Kyle Thomas Busch, nicknamed "Rowdy" due to his love for the character Rowdy Burns, was an American professional stock car driver and racing team owner, who raced from 2001 to 2026, most notably driving the No. 18, No. 51, and No. 54 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports between 2008 and 2023; Busch last competed full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing and part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports. Busch was the younger brother of 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion Kurt Busch.

Maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) is a rare, inherited metabolic disorder that affects the body's ability to metabolize amino acids due to a deficiency in the activity of the branched-chain alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase (BCKAD) complex. It particularly affects the metabolism of amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. With MSUD, the body is not able to properly break down these amino acids, therefore leading to the amino acids to build up in urine and become toxic. The condition gets its name from the distinctive sweet odor of affected infants' urine and earwax due to the buildup of these amino acids. Continue reading →
