whygodwhy #24: Andor Variations
dear [person]:
Weird year. Normally I would just cut and paste my most recent blog post here but there are things I want to talk about that I don’t want to put on my website so let’s do that!
This has been the year of health problems. I extremely hurt my back last spring and was in PT through the summer to fix it. Then COVID! finally! for the first time! in September! I think! I never actually got a positive test but other people in the house did and I was extremely out for 2 weeks so it seems likely. And then over the next few weeks I noticed increasingly less energy: almost passing out in a grocery store, days when I absolutely could not get off the couch, definitely no running or even going for walks, really. Recently my watch told me my data shows I have been significantly less active the past few weeks. Don’t you hate it when your teammates point out problems instead of suggesting solutions.
Eventually I wondered if maybe I have long COVID, especially given my continued brain fogginess, which was the subject of my last email. I don’t know! I asked to speak with my doctor about it but he couldn’t fit me in until next week, so 🤷🏼♂️.
Anyways. I’m sad about my cat (more of which below) but my family is healthy, I have a stable job, and I’m really enjoying volunteering every week at the food pantry in my neighborhood. Things could be way worse.
In other news:
🎵I released an album of covers of the theme from the TV show Andor. Have you seen Andor? It’s good. I loved the theme music. Here’s the Spotify link, but it’s on all the various platforms. I wrote a little bit about the creative process here.
🐈⬛I wrote about our cat Moonlight, who we had to say goodbye to recently (it sucked).
✍🏻I also wrote a thing a while back about how my life has become a series of lists.
Thank you for being you. I’m on Mastodon these days if you want to say hi on there. Take care & Happy Honda Days,
