West Hillsborough Big Creek Clean Up
The Wendy Olson Arboretum, Inc.
Howdy Neighbors,
The Wendy Olson Arboretum and the Appropriate Sanitation Institute are about to tag team West Hillsborough! Please WAKE UP and join us on Saturday May 24, starting at 9am at Gold Park! We will be making our way up the Bellevue Branch Creek all the way to the Wendy Olson Arboretum!

Wait until you get a load of the magnificent creek that runs through the historically underappreciated West Hillsborough.

This eternally significant creek branch, a tributary of the Eno River, flows right into the Eno River. Unfortunately this beloved creek has been used as a dumping ground for, like… EVER.

How many tires, car batteries, bicycles, liquor bottles, oil tanks, automobile parts, children’s toys, rusted nails, broken glass, old discarded weapons, toilets, diapers, and mattresses can one creek hold?!

Yet it still flows and provides homes to so many turtles, frogs, fish, mayflies, snakes, and crawfish. It’s an important refuge for all the native creatures that we share this creek with!

And Oh the Trees THE TREES that follow the creek are out of a Grimm’s Fairy Tale. Come see for yourselves. If you don’t feel like picking up trash just enjoy the walk through this enchanted forest and observe what great human beings do on a Saturday.
