Answer: Arbor-Eats-Em
We are off to a great start this year and would love to invite you to join us for some volunteer opportunities we are offering! We have lots going on in and out of the garden and we want to engage all of you as the garden begins to take shape.
Please take a look and see what floats your boat and reach out to me to set it up:
Invasive plant removal- We are currently working on English ivy, honeysuckle, and multi flora rose. Please wear long pants and sleeves, close toed shoes, gloves and a hat. Please bring water. Bring your own tools or use ours. We have no restrooms on site so keep that in mind. We will have a volunteer waiver for all to sign upon arrival. If you are driving just let me know so I can tell you where to park. Every Weekend and any weekday beginning this Friday April 19. Email me to schedule.
Community Outreach- We are looking for folks to share the news with our neighbors to get everyone involved using word of mouth, snail mail, local news outlets, tables/ set up at plant sales and farmers market, and other ideas you might have! We want to engage local birdwatchers, wildlife rehabbers, schools, youth organizations, and other like minded non-profits. Email me and lets make a plan!
Social Media- We are looking for internet savvy folks to set manage our social media, website, newsletters etc.
Grant Writing and Fundraising- We have just secured our waiver to solicit for funding. We need some seasoned expertise on this. We are looking to raise 100k+ to build the community garden, carriage house/ tool shed, and irrigation system. Would love to meet some generous local builders :) Email me and let us begin!
Event and volunteer coordinator- We are planning events each month and would love help in all areas including: getting signatures for volunteers, managing limited parking, planning and executing events, leading tours, taking event pictures as well as project before and after pics, and lots more.
Finally, here is a big invite to all of you to come out and just stroll and hang out any day during daylight hours! No appointment necessary but do let me know so I can keep track of visitors to help with funding :) Dogs must be leashed.
Please reply to this email to discuss volunteering! I hope to hear from you soon.
