REMINDER! Creek Tour THIS SUNDAY 2-4 come hang out!
The Wendy Olson Arboretum, Inc.
Howdy Neighbors,
A friendly reminder join us this Sunday for a lovely creek tour event from 2:00-4:00 in the Arboretum led by our neighbor, aquatic biologist Joe Alderman. Here is an invitation from Joe:
Good day neighbors! My name is Joe Alderman, a fellow resident of Lakeshore Dr and have been an aquatic biologist for the past 20 years, working throughout the Southeastern US. On Sunday, April 14th, I intend to lead a bit of a simple stream assessment on Tickle Creek i.e. the creek flowing through the Wendy Olson Arboretum Inc. I will provide all collection equipment, including EPT nets (aquatic insects), and fish nets. I will also show techniques used to locate crayfish, aquatic snails, and freshwater mussels (it is unlikely that any are in such a small stream, but I'll show you some examples, and what to look for). Please join us, especially inquisitive kids or anyone interested in aquatic biology, at 529 Lakeshore Drive from 2-4 to check out what the creek has to offer, biodiversity wise.
Thanks,
Joe Alderman
