🎙 The interview with Dek, creator of JavaScript MMORPG Hordes, is out! A truly inspiring journey. 💯

Good news for PlayCanvas users! PlayCanvas now supports importing GLB / gLTF files into the Editor, including 100% of ratified glTF extensions. It is also possible to directly edit the imported models’ materials and hook up their animations with PlayCanvas’ animation system. In other news, Steven Yau created a user script to load Editor Plugin scripts. It is not an official PlayCanvas feature at the moment.

Not a single JavaScript game won the GitHub Game Off 2022… But a lot of the winning games are playable online via WebAssembly. You might want to take your chance with the Global Game Jam at your local jam site.

  • R3F v8.10.0 – Adds Canvas shadow prop shortcuts ('basic', 'percentage', 'soft', 'variance').
  • Drei v9.54 – yomotsu‘s camera-controls library is now available via <CameraControls>. It is similar to OrbitControls with added features like smooth animations, camera collisions, or zoom and shake effects.

  • Little Aliens by TechhDan. A Super Mario / Zelda-style alien game made with Phaser.
  • Piano Portal by docEdub. A very cool AR demo made with Babylon.js.
