Slow News(letter) Day
I know, I know. I missed a week. However, my therapist has instructed me to be kinder to myself by balancing the bad with the good. So, yes, I didn’t stick to my own schedule—and I’ve moved my books, comics and cat to our new flat.

Work-Life Balance – the multi-award-winning prose/comics hybrid co-created with Benjamin Chee
Worlds Apart: A Conversation About Mental Health – a comic co-created with Nurjannah Suhaimi
HANTU – Spotify channel for the narrative series, Ghost Maps, and the talk show, Dead Air, both of which were co-created with Kyle Ong
Tales From Incredible Tales – a podcast by Kyle and I, looking back on the cult classic horror series, Incredible Tales
Still chugging along
This is going to be another short edition ‘cause, honestly, there’s nothing to update, on every front. Progress on the novel remains slow as I continue to find my footing again, while juggling lots of other stuff on my plate. No new media mentions either.
However, it’s less than a month till Work-Life Balance is available globally. If you live outside of Singapore, you can pre-order our book now through outlets like…
Barnes & Noble (US)
Blackwell's (UK)
Amazon (US)
Booktopia (Australia)
If you're getting it through your comic shop, find its listing in the PREVIEWS catalogue. (Diamond Code: APR241419)
One-line reviews
I’m bringing this section back, in lieu of any news.
Morning View XXIII by Incubus – If a voice could be described as zaddy, of course it had to be Brandon Boyd’s.
Incubus’ show in Singapore – This might be cheating a little, but I’ve missed them twice and I’m so, so glad I finally got to catch them live.

Late Night with the Devil – Not really frightening, but really, really fun.
The Circle season six – The only time I’ve ever been okay with a “creative” use of aye eye.
Grumps

Links and things
There was a debate over whether Singapore needed bookstores when our libraries are already really great. For my money, the short answer is, “Yes.” The longer, well-researched and wonderfully written answer is this post from Ruby Thiagarajan.
In similar news, Holland Village’s iconic Thambi Magazine Store closed down. There was a stretch of time when I was devouring issues of Wired UK and Thambi was where I was picking it up. Sadly, I missed the chance to swing by and browse their second-hand comics section one last time.
Told you it was a short one
Before I go, as always, don’t forget to support my work.
And I'll see you in June.
