All the Feels

New book—but not new work—alert! What do I mean? Patience, grasshopper. First…

Support my work

  • Work-Life Balance is an award-winning prose/comics hybrid that I co-created with Benjamin Chee. Our international distributor, Diamond, is going through a messy bankruptcy right now, so the best way to get Work-Life Balance is through our publisher’s website.

  • Worlds Apart: A Conversation About Mental Health is a comic that I co-created with Nurjannah Suhaimi. You can get it directly from our publisher or in-store at these fine comic shops:

    • Greenlight Comics (AU)

    • Kalibak’s Kave (SG)

    • G&B Comics (SG)

Protect your feelings

This is the cover for the comic, HOW ARE YOU FEELING?. A cyan speech balloon with the word HOW in yellow it at the top left, with a square panel with a young woman's left eye to the right of it done in one art style. Below the word balloon is a horizontally rectangular panel with the right side of an older woman's face done in a second art style. She is smiling. To the right of this horizontally rectangular panel is a yellow word balloon with the word ARE in it in cyan. Below the horizontally rectangular panel is a yellow word balloon with the word YOU in it in cyan. To the right of this word balloon are two panels. The first is a square panel with another the right eye of another young woman in it. This is done in a third art style. The second panel is a vertically rectangular one. In it is the same young woman, but this panel shows the left side of her face. She is smiling. At the bottom left of the cover is a vertically rectangular panel with the right side of the face of the woman from the panel at the top of the page. She is smiling and you can see that she has a mole just below her lip. To the right of this panel is a horizontally rectangular panel and, below that, a cyan word balloon. In the horizontally rectangular panel is the smiling mouth of the older woman from before. In the word balloon is the word FEELING? in yellow. Below the word balloon is the sub-headline that reads, "A Comics Anthology". This is in white. The background of the cover is light purple. All artwork is done in darker purple ink and shades.
Andeasyand (Nurulhuda Izyan); Wayne Rée and Nurjannah Suhaimi; Vinita Ramani and Griselda Gabriele

Worlds Apart has been reprinted as part of the anthology, How Are You Feeling?, which also collects Andeasyand’s A Drip. A Drop. A Deluge: A Period Tragicomedy, and Vinita Ramani and Griselda Gabriele’s Bearing Witness—three stories about topics that are not discussed nearly enough.

How Are You Feeling? will be available from 15 August 2025, but you can pre-order it now directly from our publisher. Because of the Diamond situation, I can’t tell you when it will be available internationally in bookstores, though if I had to guess, I’d say we’re looking at… 2026? Maybe? Hopefully?

The book has a foreword by Thailand-based comic scholar, Nicolas Verstappen. (In a fun bit of serendipity, I picked up Verstappen’s book, The Art of Thai Comics: A Century of Strips and Stripes, earlier this year while I was in Bangkok). Here’s a choice quote from the foreword.

“Visually inventive and emotionally resonant, this anthology is a powerful contribution to the field of graphic medicine, offering Southeast Asian perspectives that further weave and diversify the threads connecting personal experiences and global discourses on mental and physical health.”

Oh, sure, he looks peaceful here…

Since the last time I wrote one of these, I’ve brought Luca to a new vet—one closer to our flat—to get chipped and for a standard check-up. The vet and her technicians were all very lovely. Like his previous vet, they greeted him with a cheery, “Oh, hello! You’re a big, handsome boy!”

After the initial consultation, they told me that I could head out for a cup of coffee while they had Luca chipped. Minutes after this though, I received a call from one of the vet techs who, in a panicked voice, asked me to come back because Luca was “very angry”.

When I returned, I found the vet in one corner of the consultation room, the vet tech in another, and Luca snarling in between them.

Within seconds though, I calmed the little demon back down and, pretty soon, he was chipped and ready to head home, where he was given plenty of treats for being a brave, brave boy.

And, yes, the whole point of this story is to show how much my cat loves me.

And that’s it for now

Hopefully, I’ll have news about a launch event for How Are You Feeling? soon. In the meantime, don’t forget to support my stuff.
