VentureBeat highlighted the rising cost conversation around premium coding agents like Claude Code, with cheaper or open alternatives getting louder. This feels inevitable. Once the novelty wears off, devs stop asking “can it code?” and start asking “is this worth the monthly bill?”
Why it matters: the next winner in AI coding may be the tool that’s merely very good and dramatically cheaper — not the one with the flashiest benchmark chart.

Why it matters: AI rollout is now a people problem as much as a product problem. If teams don’t trust the story, adoption won’t follow the demo.
