Gray Zone Warfare's Rogue Ops Adds Seven Guns, Three Tier 4 Zones, and Craft-Only Stims

MADFINGER Games' second 0.5 devlog, posted October 11 on Steam, lists the Rogue Ops loot: the AUG, Benelli M4, G3, G36, FAMAS, UMP, and Glock 18C, plus 370 weapon parts. Most new guns spawn in the world instead of vendor stock. Three Tier 4 locations arrive (an asylum, a military research site, and a radio observatory), with suppression, traps, and a hacking tool for electronic locks. High-value loot spawns are cut and Stims become craft-only. Supporters preview October 19, everyone else plays October 22.

Player impact: Rich runs get harder to farm, so squads should stockpile Stims before the October 22 soft wipe and plan routes around the new Tier 4 zones. Vendor shoppers lose their shortcut to the new guns.

Dark and Darker Fixes Missing Escape Portals as ARC Raiders Admits Its Reward Pass Is Stuck

Ironmace's Dark and Darker hotfix #128 landed October 12, fixing Season 11 Expedition runs in Solo and Duo where no escape portal appeared before the final circle, plus failed rope escapes in Ice Abyss and a Firedeep boss room that dropped players into empty space. Embark's ARC Raiders hotfix 2.0.2 on October 9 fixed invisible weapon meshes, server crashes, and a Pendola Pass grate that trapped players, and confirmed the Reward Pass is not progressing for some players.

Player impact: Dark and Darker solo and duo players can trust the final circle again. ARC Raiders Reward Pass buyers should screenshot their progress until Embark ships the promised fix.

Defending Champions NRG Crash Out of Valorant Champions Shanghai in 5th Place

100 Thieves eliminated NRG 2-0 in the lower bracket on October 11, winning Sunset 14-12 in overtime and Haven 13-4. NRG had dropped from the upper bracket a day earlier after losing 2-1 to LOUD, so their back-to-back title run ends at 5th-6th. Four teams remain: Vitality and LOUD meet in the upper final on October 16, 100 Thieves face G2 the same day, and the best-of-five grand final is October 18.

Player impact: The reigning champs are gone and every Chinese team is already out on home soil, so a new name lifts the trophy. Lock in your pick before the October 16 upper final.

ZywOo Posts a 1.65 Rating as Vitality Sweep MOUZ for the ESL Pro League Title

Team Vitality beat MOUZ 3-0 in the Counter-Strike 2 ESL Pro League Season 24 final on October 11, taking Cache 13-7, Inferno 13-8, and Dust2 16-12 after saving three MOUZ map points. ZywOo finished 64-33 with a 1.65 rating and 90.3 average damage per round for his 34th career MVP, per HLTV. It is Vitality's second straight title after StarSeries Fall in September, and Aurora took third by sweeping Spirit.

Player impact: Vitality are on a two-event streak, which makes them the default pick in every bracket challenge this fall. MOUZ fans get the hard question: how do you lose three straight map points on Dust2?

Apex Makes Plat+ Players Wait Up to 30 Seconds Longer for Tighter Ranked Lobbies

Respawn started a ranked matchmaking test on October 9 for Platinum and above in every region and on every platform: maximum queue times now scale up with rank, with Masters waiting up to about 30 seconds longer, to keep skill bands tighter. The same day it patched an exploit that fired a full magazine in one shot, plus rapid-fire and reload exploits on the Sentinel and C.A.R. SMG. The test runs until the season ends or Respawn has enough data.

Player impact: High-rank players trade queue time for fairer lobbies, and the one-shot magazine exploit is gone. Off-peak Masters queues could drag, so watch whether the test survives the season.

Battlefield 6 Brings Dead Space Under Area 51 From October 20 to November 7

EA's Battlefield 6 Season 5 schedule, posted October 9, adds a Dead Space crossover from October 20 to November 7: a Halloween PvE scenario based on the 2023 remake, with Pax Armata hunting tech under Area 51. Phase 1 opens October 13 with the Vegas Strip and Area 51 maps plus Rapid Royale. Casino Heist follows November 10 and Frozen Aces lands December 8. The season adds six weapons and two vehicles.

Player impact: The Dead Space mode runs under three weeks, so plan Halloween sessions around it. Game Pass players joining on October 13 land right at the start of Phase 1.

NetEase's ECC: REDLINE Gets Called a Warzone Copy Within a Day of Its Reveal

NetEase revealed ECC: REDLINE on October 9, a free-to-play battle royale shooter from its Galaxy Studio for PC, iOS, and Android, with a Steam page but no date. Players loot, buy gear with in-match credits, grapple and wall-bounce, and come back from a downed 'roaming state' or a teammate revive. Within a day, Call of Duty creators on Reddit, YouTube, and X were calling the UI, sound, and layout a near 1:1 copy of Warzone, IGN reported.

Player impact: If you miss old Warzone's feel, this is the free one to wishlist. If you think the copy is too close, watch whether Activision reacts before the first test.

Squadron 42 Opens Steam Wishlists and Lists a Q2 2027 Release

Cloud Imperium's Squadron 42, the single-player campaign set in the Star Citizen universe, got a Steam page on October 10 listing a Q2 2027 release, along with a new trailer. The listed PC requirements are modest, with no ray tracing or DirectX 12 requirement, but it wants a 150GB install. The cast includes Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, and Henry Cavill. Chris Roberts moved the game out of 2026 in August to avoid GTA 6.

Player impact: A Steam page with a quarter attached is the most concrete date Squadron 42 has had in years. Clear 150GB later, but don't pay for anything until the window holds.

It Takes Two Gets a Free Switch 2 Upgrade With Cross-Play on October 15

It Takes Two arrives on Switch 2 on October 15 as a free upgrade for Switch 1 owners, running at 1080p and 60fps docked with faster loading, Nintendo Life reported on October 9. Cross-play with PC, Xbox, and PlayStation works from day one, and the Friend's Pass still lets a second player join free. The catch: Switch 1 players can only join a Switch 2 friend online if that friend drops back to the Switch 1 version.

Player impact: Switch 2 owners get the best console version for nothing, and your PC or PlayStation friend can finally join. Switch 1 holdouts are stuck asking friends to downgrade.

Forza Horizon 6's PS5 Disc Can't Hold the Whole Game, So Expect a Big Download

Playground Games confirmed a physical PS5 release for Forza Horizon 6, but Push Square reported on October 10 that the roughly 150GB game will not fit on a PS5 Blu-ray, which holds about 100GB, so the disc needs a large download before you can play. The PS5 version launches January 26, 2027, and Playground plans the first premium expansion for January 2027 alongside it.

Player impact: PS5 buyers who want the disc should not expect to play from it alone, and they need SSD room on launch day. Resale-minded buyers are paying for a disc that works partly as a licence key.

AMD Reportedly Raises GDDR6 Prices to Card Makers, Putting Radeon RX 9000 Prices at Risk

Board Channels reported on October 10 that AMD raised the price of the GDDR6 memory it supplies to graphics card partners, effective October 1, Wccftech reported. No percentage was given, but RDNA 4 Radeon RX 9000 cards are expected to be hit hardest and partners are likely to pass the cost on. Nvidia has reportedly not told its partners about a similar rise. This is a supply-chain report, not an AMD statement.

Player impact: If you planned to buy an RX 9070 or RX 9060, today's shelf price may be the best you see for a while. Nvidia cards are already far above June prices, so there is no cheap escape route.

Abxylute's $75.99 P5 Brings Adaptive Triggers and Hall Effect Sticks to a Third-Party PS5 Pad

Abxylute launched the P5 wireless PS5 controller, Notebookcheck reported on October 10, with adaptive triggers, Hall Effect sticks that resist drift, two programmable back buttons, and motion controls. It costs $75.99 until October 15, then $89.99, against $74.99 for Sony's DualSense. The tradeoffs: no speaker and a 1,500mAh battery rated around 8 hours, roughly half a DualSense. It ships at the end of October and also works on PC, Android, and iOS.

Player impact: Drift-resistant sticks plus back paddles for DualSense money is a real pitch for shooter players. The 8-hour battery means long sessions need a cable nearby.

ARC Raiders Studio Embark Has News Coming at the October 15 Galaxies Showcase

The Galaxies Showcase returns October 15, streaming on IGN's YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and X, and the October 9 line-up lists Embark Studios, the team behind ARC Raiders and The Finals, among the studios bringing announcements. ZA/UM (Zero Parades) and Frontier (Elite Dangerous) are also on the bill. The organisers have not said what Embark will show.

Player impact: Embark gets a stage while ARC Raiders sits near a six-month player high, so ARC and Finals players should tune in on October 15. Anything beyond content or roadmap news is speculation for now.

Denuvo Kills the Hypervisor Bypass That Cracked 60 Games, Starting With Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Notebookcheck reported on October 9 that Denuvo patched a hypervisor bypass that had cracked more than 60 protected games by disabling a CPU flag from a virtualization layer. Star Wars: Galactic Racer, out October 6, ships with the updated build and crashes without the flag, so it stays uncracked. The fix only covers games that get the new build, and the group that spread the bypass has disbanded.

Player impact: New Denuvo releases are locked down again, which restarts the arguments over performance hits and online checks for paying players. Older protected games stay exposed unless publishers patch them.
