Battlestate Games published an Escape from Tarkov roadmap on August 27 running to the end of 2026. September brings a ranked league that sorts players into groups of 50 and scores them on experience earned, plus a Lighthouse map rework. October upgrades the game to the Unity 6 engine with optimisation and vegetation work. December adds a second season and, for the first time, ARC Raiders-style knockdown, revive, and healing mechanics for downed teammates. Battlestate calls it a preliminary plan.

Level Infinite's free-to-play extraction shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite confirmed its 1.0 full launch for September 15 on Steam and Epic, leaving the early access it entered in August 2024. The release ships five maps (Farm, Valley, Northridge, Armory, TV Station), a dynamic weather system, a solo mode, and a gunsmith with more than 900 attachments. An End-of-Season event running August 27 to September 30 hands out free Point Protection Cards every week.

Player impact: A 1.0 usually means a wipe, so there is little point hoarding stash value before September 15. The new solo mode lets you run raids without a squad carrying you.

Mistfall Hunter Adds Its First Oceania Server and Nerfs Mercenary Invincibility

Extraction shooter Mistfall Hunter ran a two-hour maintenance on August 28 that added an Oceania server, the game's first regional server since launch. Silent Hill: Townfall Locks In a September 24 Launch on PS5 and PC

The Witcher 3 Remastered Arrives September 29 as a Free Upgrade

CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered for September 29, a free upgrade for anyone who owns the base game on GOG, Steam, Epic, PS5, or Xbox Series, and it also comes to Switch 2. The remaster reworks combat, movement, progression, and lighting, and adds path tracing and DLSS 4.5. Both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are bundled in. Reviewers flagged that crashes can erase permadeath progress, so save often or expect lost runs.

Player impact: If you like XCOM-style tactics, this is the best-reviewed Star Wars game in years. Save constantly, because a crash mid-mission can undo hours of permadeath progress.

IO Interactive added Snoop Dogg to Hitman: World of Assassination as a free Elusive Target mission called The Herbalist, live from August 27 to September 26. It is playable at no cost through the game's free starter access on PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC, Switch, Switch 2, and mobile, set on the Haven Island map with Agent 47 hunting a product launch on the island.

ASUS ROG Reveals a 720Hz OLED Esports Monitor at Gamescom

ASUS Republic of Gamers unveiled new gear at Gamescom on August 27, led by the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, a 24.5-inch 1080p monitor that hits a 720Hz refresh rate with a 0.02ms response time and is the official monitor of the 2026 PGL Major esports event. ROG also showed the Gladius IV Ace esports mouse and a limited-edition Onimusha Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. No prices were announced.

Player impact: A 720Hz panel is aimed straight at competitive FPS players chasing every frame. For everyone else it is overkill, and the missing price tag is the catch.
