Tarkov's Halloween Patch Speeds Up Seasonal Skill Leveling, and Unity 6 Slips to Mid-November

Battlestate Games shipped Escape from Tarkov patch 1.3.0.0 on October 29 with a Halloween event and fall weather. It adds high-difficulty PMC bots to the PvE Zone on high-level maps, significantly speeds up skill leveling in Seasonal mode, ties Metabolism progress to energy and hydration restored, and makes valuables easier to grab. The Unity 6 engine switch, planned for October, moves to mid-November in update 1.3.5.0.

Player impact: Seasonal grinders get stats faster, PvE players finally face bots that fight back, and anyone waiting on Unity 6 performance gains has a few more weeks of the old engine.

Gray Zone Warfare Now Tells RX 9000 Owners to Roll Back AMD's Newest Driver

MADFINGER Games released Gray Zone Warfare hotfix 0.5.0.2 on October 29, a week into the Rogue Ops season. Players on AMD Radeon RX 9000 cards with driver 26.10.1 or newer now get an in-game warning recommending driver 26.8.1, because the newer drivers can crash the GPU. The hotfix also closes a faction sign-up bonus that could be claimed multiple times and fixes a 'No valid operator' error blocking some last-season characters.

Player impact: If your RX 9000 keeps crashing mid-raid, the fix is a driver rollback, and anyone who farmed the sign-up bonus twice just lost that loophole.

Road to Vostok Lets You Trade With Nomads Inside Your Shelter in Its Last Build 2 Patch

Solo developer Antti released Road to Vostok patch 0.2.3.0 on October 29, the final content patch for Build 2. Nomads with good reputation can now move into shelters through a new Nomad Spot recipe, and players can trade with them during non-combat moments and Gathering events. Each shelter spawns zero to three Nomads, AI can still open fire mid-conversation, and existing saves carry over. Work now shifts to Build 3's quest and progression content.

Player impact: The hardcore survival extraction game gets a reason to keep Nomads alive instead of looting them, though mods with AI or trading features may break until they update.

Apex Legends: Cipher Adds Akimbo Wingmans and Lets Diamond Ranked Ban Legends on November 3

EA and Respawn announced Apex Legends: Cipher on October 29 for a November 3 launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch 2. Crypto's drone moves to a battery with a new Sentry Mode, and the Akimbo Wingman puts a revolver in each hand for double damage. Strongholds replace Care Packages with alarmed high-tier loot, and Diamond-and-above ranked lobbies vote on one Legend to ban each match.

Player impact: Ranked players at Diamond and up need a backup main before November 3, and dual Wingmans could rewrite close-range fights overnight.

Destiny 2's Vaulted Campaigns and Raids Won't Fully Return Until Early 2028

Bungie's latest community update says bringing back vaulted Destiny 2 content will take until the first months of 2028. The team stays in pre-production until January or February 2027, then needs about 12 months of full production. The list covers the Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns plus their strikes, raids, and the Menagerie. Patrol zones and PvP maps are only stretch goals.

Player impact: Lapsed Guardians waiting for Forsaken to return are looking at roughly 15 months, so nobody should reinstall for it this year.

Modern Warfare 4's Intro Uses Real Footage From Seoul's Itaewon Crush, and Victims' Families Want It Gone

Modern Warfare 4's opening montage of news reports includes a clip of a paramedic doing CPR that South Korean players traced to coverage of the 2022 Itaewon Halloween crowd crush, which killed 159 people. The Itaewon Disaster Bereaved Families Association and the Korea Game Users Association asked Activision to remove it, VGC reported on October 28. Activision told SBS the footage was meant to convey the fictional story.

Player impact: A patch that cuts the clip is the obvious ask, and the story will follow Call of Duty in Korea until Activision makes it or explains why not.

FromSoftware Delays Switch 2 Exclusive The Duskbloods to 2027 for Rules and Balance Changes

FromSoftware announced on October 29 that The Duskbloods, its multiplayer action game exclusive to Switch 2, moves from 2026 to 2027. The studio said the game is nearly finished, but feedback from August's network test pushed it to make final adjustments to game rules and balancing. No specific date was given.

Player impact: Switch 2 owners lose their big FromSoftware game this year, and the network test feedback means the competitive rules could look different at launch.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Reportedly Called Sentinel, With a Name Reveal as Soon as November

The Verge reported on October 29 that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, and VGC picked it up the same day. Sources place the game in Hammerfell around the Iliac Bay, and the name could be confirmed next month, possibly around Skyrim's 15th anniversary on November 11. Bethesda has not commented, and no release window was reported.

Player impact: This is a report, so treat the name as unconfirmed, and keep your Skyrim anniversary expectations to a title card rather than a release date.

Microsoft's results for the quarter ending September 30, released October 28, show Xbox hardware revenue down 14% year over year and content and services down 2%, an improvement on the previous quarter's 10% drop.
