Delta Force Lands on PS5 and Xbox Today With Warfare, Extraction, and Black Hawk Down

Team Jade's free-to-play shooter Delta Force launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 19, one year after its PC debut. Console players get all three pillars: large-scale Warfare, the Tarkov-style Operations extraction mode where you loot a raid and try to escape with the gear, and the Black Hawk Down co-op campaign as free DLC. Cross-progression carries operators, Battle Pass, and currency across PC, mobile, and console, and the build ships with aim assist and crossplay.

Player impact: The extraction mode is now free on console with progress shared from PC, and crossplay means console squads queue against PC mouse aimers. Test the aim assist before you risk a ranked Operations run.

ARC Raiders Swings the Ban Hammer at Cheaters With Denuvo and Anybrain in Update 1.42.0

Embark Studios shipped ARC Raiders update 1.42.0 on August 18 and used it to confirm an anti-cheat crackdown. Working with Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat, the studio says it banned a large batch of accounts running recently popular cheat software, and it is tightening detection of economy exploits, teaming, and matchmaking abuse. The patch also offsets map conditions by region instead of a single global schedule, so players outside peak-hour timezones stop missing timed events.

Player impact: If cheaters and stash-dupe exploiters pushed you off ARC Raiders, this ban wave decides whether the extraction economy feels fair again. Watch whether the bans hold or the cheat sellers find a bypass within a week.

NightRunner Is a Co-op Extraction Shooter Where You Defend a Moving Train, Playtest Hits Steam in September

German studio 314 Arts announced NightRunner on August 18, a 1 to 4 player co-op extraction shooter set after a solar catastrophe. Instead of a fixed base, squads defend a moving train called a wagon while scavenging, blending extraction runs, boss dungeons, and wave-survival tower defense. Runs are roguelite, with permanent Runner-Tech upgrades between them, and you only keep loot if you reach the destination. A public Steam playtest is planned for September, with full release in 2027.

Player impact: This is PvE-only extraction, so no rival squad wipes your run, only the horde does. Wishlist it and grab the September playtest if you want extraction stakes without getting third-partied by other players.

Valorant Benches Breeze and Brings Back Abyss for Act 5 and Champions 2026

Riot released Valorant patch 13.04 on August 18, opening Act 5 of the 2026 season and swapping the competitive map pool. Abyss, the map with bottomless drop-offs and no edge walls, returns to ranked and Deathmatch while Breeze rotates out. The same pool runs at Valorant Champions 2026 in Shanghai from September 24 to October 18. Act 5 lasts five weeks instead of the usual seven, and the patch adds agent and melee-skin bug fixes.

Player impact: If you drilled Breeze lineups, they are dead in ranked as of now, and Abyss falloff angles are back on the study list. A shorter five-week act means less time to climb before the reset, so start queuing.

Payday: Aces High Opens a Co-op Heist Playtest on Quest 3 From August 20

Fast Travel Games is running a closed community playtest for Payday: Aces High, a VR co-op heist shooter, on Meta Quest 3 from August 20 through August 24, with sign-ups open now. Up to four players rob banks, museums, and a penthouse belonging to a business rival, choosing between a quiet stealth run and going loud with assault rifles, SMGs, and gadgets. The full game is slated for later in 2026.

Player impact: This is a VR-only test, so you need a Quest 3 and a sign-up to get in. If loud versus stealth heist runs are your thing, this is the window to try Aces High before it launches.
