And yet more updates

Hey folks! I have a lot of updates.

TINA AND ELLIE TAKE THE CASE

Kickstarter has released the funds for my latest campaign, and I have ordered my new book, Tina and Ellie Take the Case. It should be in my hands so that I can start shipping it by mid-October. The image above is the back cover, spine, and front cover. As you can see, for the final back cover, I repurposed the art from the cover of Meeting Comics #13:

I decided to slide the background element around to where it wasn't so smoothly blended because I liked the effect of the dots. That lettering I did for #13 is some of the best I've done, so I removing it hurt a bit, but the original cover will be printed on the interior covers with all the others:

This is how I handled the cover art in Clocking In and Selling Out as well. It's how I print the color covers in a black and white book. With the printer I'm using, I'd have to pay for color printing for the whole book to do some color pages.

Anyway, I'll have the book in hand soon, in time for Zine Machine in October, but not in time for Zine Folk this weekend.

I haven't done many shows this year thanks to "life events" (just NOICE in February, I think), and I'm glad to be doing a couple in the near future.

If you have ordered Tina and Ellie Take the Case via my kickstarter and want to pick it up at Zine Machine in October, let me know and I'll have your stuff there for you. Since you paid shipping, I'll give you something else cool.

ANECDON'TS

I put together a zine of some of my diary comics from this year. It doesn't include every diary comic I drew this year, because some of those are just for me. Not everything that was posted on my patreon is in here, and there are a few things in here that I didn't post online.

I'll have these at Zine Folk on September 26. If you're a $3+ subscriber here, you'll get a PDF copy, and if you're a $5+ subscriber, you'll get a print copy. I will ship them in October when I ship Tina and Ellie Take the Case.

And speaking of when I ship Tina and Ellie Take the Case...

TINA AND ELLIE BAKE A CAKE

I finished the zine which will ship to folks who preordered Tina and Ellie Take the Case, called Tina and Ellie Bake a Cake. It's 16 pages plus covers. There's a little essay on how Tina and Ellie went from background characters to stars of the comic, excerpts from Tina and Ellie's Case Files, and pinups that I drew over the course of the kickstarter.

This part is just like the part for Anecdon'ts: I've got these put together already, so I'll have these at Zine Folk on September 26. If you're a $3+ subscriber here, you'll get a PDF copy, and if you're a $5+ subscriber, you'll get a print copy. I will ship them in October when I ship Tina and Ellie Take the Case.

PATREON STUFF

If you’re a patreon subscriber, the patreon post version of this newsletter has an extra secion at the end about an upcoming shipment for patrons who get print stuff, so check that out if it applies to you!

Take care!
