ZINE MACHINE

Hey, folks! When last we spoke, I was getting ready to exhibit at Zine Machine in Durham, one of my favorite shows.

Tables at Zine Machine are eight feet wide, and this year I decided to take full advantage of the space. I tried a new way of displaying original art - in trays rather than in portfolios - and more people flipped through the art since it was more visible. I sold a few pieces as well. Hopefully I’ll be able to work out how to do the same thing on standard 6 foot tables!

Hey everyone! I've been dealing with life outside of comics but things are moving along in a way that I'll be able to resume drawing comics in November. I am very happy about this. In the meantime, I have seized what moments I've been able to and done some drawings. I've put some of those drawings into a couple of new Style & Fashion zines, which I'll be debuting at Zine Machine this Sunday, so let's talk about that event first:

ZINE MACHINE

I've done a very small amount of shows this year, and unless something very convenient pops up at the last minute, Zine Machine will be my last show of the year. It's a fun event in downtown Durham, NC. I always enjoy myself at Zine Machine, and usually make pretty good money, too. I hope to see some of you who are local there!

One of my perfect cats, Babydoll, mysteriously dislocated her jaw and had to go to the emergency vet, and while she is doing great and healing up, she is now going to have to have some more stuff done because she’s got messed up teeth.

The kickstarter is over! People who have ordered NO RACCOONS IN HELL through the kickstarter, as well as most patreon subscribers, will be receiving both the comic and the bonus zine, PEEKS AND VALLEYS pretty soon.

I have added NO RACCOONS IN HELL as a preorder to my webstore, and moved the other Val Cannon Mysteries to the top of the page.

Order through the end of day, Tuesday, July 15, to get the bonus pin-up zine, PEEKS AND VALLEYS, along with the comic! The zine will be available after this preorder period as a separate item to purchase.

KICKSTARTER SUCCESSFUL!

Hey folks, first of all, the kickstarter for NO RACCOONS IN HELL ended successfully last week. Thanks to everyone who pledged or shared!

THE COMIC IS DONE! BASICALLY!

I finished the final page of NO RACCOONS IN HELL part one this weekend. It’s thirty-six pages of comics. The issue will be 40 pages plus covers, so there will be 4 interior pages that aren’t a part of the comic story, with things like an author’s note, sketches, and this page, which will serve as a primer on characters we've met before for people who haven't read WHERE THE RENT WENT and GONE GHOST:

KICKSTARTER

Hey, folks, this is the last week of my kickstarter! In fact, it ends Thursday, July 3, so it’s the final less than a week of my kickstarter!

It has been funded! People who back the kickstarter will get the new comic (NO RACCOONS IN HELL), a pin-up zine (PEEKS & VALLEYS), and possibly other stuff, depending on the tiers and add-ons they choose!

I hope so, anyway! I have scheduled this email to go out after the launch of my kickstarter around 9am on Tuesday, June 10, but since I have to manually push the button to launch the kickstarter, it’s possible that that won’t have happened for some dumb reason. Who knows? I’m living on the edge!

The kickstarter is ready to go, though! I just finished adding international shipping options thanks to a new service provided by the company I use for postage.

Again, if you’re already getting comics through my patreon, you’ll already get the new comic and zine.
