Customer Referrals Release

What is this feature?

This feature is called “Customer Referrals”.

We haven’t built a full-blown referral system for Ditto so far because referrals with incentives are prohibited by IRDA regulations. Instead, we were asking customers to promote us on social media or write Google reviews if they liked our service.

To further increase these referrals, we are partnering with a bunch of NGOs and for every referral a lead gives us, we will donate to some good cause. This way we can promote referrals without giving any monetary incentive to the customer. 

How does it work?

Unique referral link

For each lead we get, a unique referral link will be generated and made available in the lead page of the CRM.

  • The referral link will include the lead ID and the advisor ID. It will be encrypted and shortened.

  • Advisors can copy and share the referral links with their leads. These links can be used by anyone to sign up for the Ditto Hotline.

When a new lead signs up for the Ditto Hotline using a referral link, they would be automatically tagged as a referral lead in the CRM.

  • The new lead would also be automatically linked to the lead who referred them.

  • All new leads who sign up for the Ditto Hotline using a referral link will be auto-assigned to the advisor whose referral link was used, provided the product capability of the advisor and the product the new lead wants to discuss are the same. For example, if the advisor is a health advisor and the new lead wants to have a discussion on Term, the lead will NOT be auto-assigned to the advisor.

  • The lead page in CRM will have a tab called “Referrals”, which would show the list of all the referrals made by that lead.

Dashboard widget

The advisor dashboard would have a widget to show the number of referrals an advisor acquired in the previous month and sales generated from their referrals (sales generated by earlier referrals as well, not just the ones acquired in the previous month) in the previous month. This would allow them to track their referral performance.

There would also be a leaderboard on the admin dashboard to show the number of referrals generated per advisor and the sales generated from referrals in a selected date range.

How should you use the “Customer Referrals” feature?

  • Copy the referral link from the lead page and share it with your clients. 

  • Educate them about what we’d do for every referral we get from them.
