67 - Lockdown's over, if you want it
Hey there, !
The quarantine's over here in Melbourne - what a dream! It's a slow start, but it's a start nonetheless. I'm incredibly happy that I get to see friends and family again, and I get to be out and about.
I've been trying to make the most of going out in the last few weeks since the quarantine lifted - restaurants, traveling outside the 5 / 25km limit - all things that have had to wait for the last few months.
There have been some habits that have stuck around:
- movie nights with the family
- takeaway from places on weekends (rather than dining in)
- continuing to evolve my Animal Crossing island :D
- taking the time to enjoy quiet moments
- taking a daily walk (although hayfever is RUINING this one ugh)
I'm trying to be a lot more conscious about the habits I cultivated, and make sure that the future is shaped by what I want to do.
One of the other benefits during COVID is that I've been able to spend a lot less, and build up that BAAANK - but now that I've got an excuse to do so, I'm out there living the dream (hello BRUNCH).
We're all dreaming of a COVID-safe Christmas down here - hope you're all doing well!

Tenet - if you want a Christopher Nolan movie turned up to 11, here it is. Fantastic cinematography, fascinating concept, great score, and dialogue that is mixed down as far as possible, almost to the point that you don't actually hear it (😠). It's an entertaining watch - take a look!
-
Lorna Cafe - I keep thinking it's in Dandenong, but it's actually in Ferntree Gully, below Mount Dandenong. It has my favourite Chicken and Waffles dish in all of Melbourne - they've recently changed the style of it but it's still fantastically crisp, crunchy, and the chicken is cooked to perfection. There's no reason that it should be so good, but it is.

Magnasanti: The Largest and Most Terrifying SimCity - An incredibly efficient city, that, well...
Unemployment is high, air pollution is stifling, education is largely absent, medical care and fire response are non-existent. Citizens do not live to reach retirement age. The police state has essentially eliminated free will and allowed the city to maximize its size while reducing quality of life to a minimum — and still maintaining total control over the citizens.
Every person living in Magnasanti spends his life working and residing in one small, massively efficient block of space, until death around age 50.
