# 55 - Anti Conspiracy Conspiracies
Welcome, ! Thanks for joining me again today :)

Social distancing helps us stay safe. Masks help us stay safe.
And yet there are so many people who think their freedoms are being infringed on, or that there are massive conspiracies trying to control them, or that they shouldn't be oppressed by the GOVERNMENT.
Since posts on Facebook and Instagram using data and rational explanations don't work, I feel like we have to engage on their level and use Anti-Conspiracy Conspiracies. I was inspired by this xkcd comic - playing paranoid conspiracy theories off each other!

I wanted to think of some others that might work - here are some examples I came up with:
-
Masks: "Can't you see that the masks are actually a way that the Deep State is trying to save us from the Chinese facial recognition software? Haven't you heard what TIKTOK is doing with our data?! Wear a mask, protect your facial data."
-
5G Towers causing coronavirus"The 5G towers are actually tuned to the Russian spy frequency, and are blocking their signals - do your part for the nation and support 5G!"
-
Fake Moon Landing: "I mean, you know the belief that the moon landing was fake was a way for the government to know if their chemtrails worked? They had chemicals that could specifically rewire brains to believe in a faked moon landing, allowing them to track how effective their planes were..."
-
Flat Earthers: "We have to publicly believe in a Round Earth so that all of Kim Jong Un's calculations get screwed up. You know how all his rockets fall into the sea? - he thinks it's a Flat Earth and all his scientists can't work out why."
-
Anti-vaxxers: "You gotta find the premium vaccines, y'know? Like, yeah, mercury is in the vaccines, but think about salt. Chlorine gas is poisonous, and sodium is explosive, yet when the manufacturers put 'em together you get normal, non-poisonous salt! You just have to make sure it's in the right proportions. Don't worry, I know a guy who can hook you up."
Any others you can think of?

Digital clocks in Europe fall behind due to power shortages caused by cryptomining - in North Kosovo, nobody pays for electricity. Citizens build massive cryptomining rigs to make money, and use up way more electricity than they should be. The intermittent shortages cause digital clocks in Europe to slip. Long-ish read but SO INTERESTING!

Anonymous 4chan user helps solve a 25-year old Math Puzzle - the puzzle concerns the following - when you have 3 digits, you can watch them in specific ways: 123, 213, 312, 231 etc. An efficient way to cover ever single combination would be to create a 'superpermutation', such as: 123121321, which contains all the possible permutations. An anonymous 4chan user found a lower bound answer for n=14 when approaching how one could watch every possible permutation of a particular anime (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). A niche, but fascinating story!
