The Glossary
As usual, a few glossary terms:

A ‘name year‘ is usually a year of change - and often that is seen as a 'bad' thing. However, most of the advice that you'll get is more about how you can take control of that change; so don't worry if it's a name year, it might not all be bad! Also, I thought I knew how this was calculated (by the 12/3/6/9 on a clock) but this year he gave a breakdown in the book that there are something like 50 different types of name years and they follow some arcane pattern that I have NO idea about. So, back to the drawing board of wtf this all means :D

Any time I mention a ‘sponsor‘ it means that there’s someone who will appear in your life as a benefactor of some sort. It doesn’t mean they’re literally rich or will give you money, it means they’ll be valuable to your life.

A ‘crisis‘ of any type means that there could be an incident relating to that particular thing. So for example, a ‘blood crisis’ means you’ll have an incident relating to blood. But that could be you donating blood, or a blood test, so usually the advice is, again, to take control of that crisis and e.g. get your blood tested (which is really just a healthy annual thing to do…).
The Zodiac Predictions
🐉Dragon - The Year of Bringing it On Yourself: This year, out of the whole zodiac, your luck is smack bang in the middle. Classically, if it's your year, you're going to have a 'name year' (so that sucks) - surprisingly, last year was also supposed to be a 'name year' and you may have lost sponsors and undergone some difficult trials. This year...those trials keep comin' and they're all brought on by yourself rather than from external sources.
These come from some 'locked up bad habits'...or in other words, habits that have calcified over time that get impacted further by sudden events during the year, and toss you into more uncertainty about your life. Our fengshui master here recommends that you look out for the numbers 3, 6 and 9 in everything you do (apparently they are lucky numbers for you this year?), and make sure that you're energetically and honestly taking on the world as best you can. This will help you gain favour of people around you to help you overcome the bad luck of the year.
There are two lucky stars particularly that are important - the 'Gold Cart' and the 'Jade Universe' stars - the 'Gold Cart' is pretty much what it says on the tin; it signals that luck and wealth will literally be delivered to your doorstep (amazing), and there will be tons of opportunities to make money (also amazing). The 'Jade Universe' star refers to the most luxurious houses that old emperors used to live in (apparently) and signals that there may be opportunity to move into a new house, or undergo new renovations, which will enhance your luck throughout the year. Also, his advice is to buy a new car - that's supposed to increase your luck too! (because...uh...you need to use that money to...get more money? I don't really know - he doesn't explain it LOL)
In terms of unlucky stars, there is the 'Sharp Sword' and 'Corpse' star - one which deals with a blood crisis (so get your blood test at the start of the year!) and ensure that you're careful when you go driving, traveling, or just generally ambling about; remember, risks for you are compounded because you're in your 'name year'. In addition, don't try to open a business - or if you have to, don't make it too big of a thing; apparently it'll bring more bad luck to you (I don't make the rules - the stars do!).
Romance-wise, it's all in your head. You're going to bring all of the issues in your life on yourself. This is especially true for male Dragons who might be focused on work - it's important not to let relationships / marriages etc. fall by the wayside - you need to make sure you're still keeping up the effort. Female Dragons are apparently gonna be okay being by themselves, as it's not going to be a lucky year for romantic fate.
Health-wise, you got some blade and blood crises coming your way (from the unlucky stars above!) so be really careful even when you're doing simple, easy stuff. Keep an eye out for your hands and feet, your liver (lol). Be even more careful if you're planning to do any surgery - especially cosmetic surgery - as they have to use blades! If you were born in autumn or winter, wear more red and keep warm to up your 'fire'.
In summary: With all the change of a 'name year', you're at risk of overthinking the world and letting it get to you. Instead, just don't think too much, let the world be as it is. Say less, do more, keep to yourself and adapt to the changes of your 'name year'!
🐍 Snake - The Year of Combatting Sickness by Going to Weddings: Out of the whole zodiac, you're the 5th luckiest - in a word, it's mediocre luck this year. Last year, there was a lot of effort getting on with it to progress; this year, you're going to probably follow along the same track because all your lucky stars are balanced by unlucky ones. Sorry, that's just how the cookie crumbles. Or, er, that's how the snake sheds its skin? I'll work on the metaphor...
Two lucky stars to start - the 'Gold House' (one of the luckiest stars!) and the 'Five Fortunes' stars - which both signify things to do with growing wealth. These signify moving from smaller things to bigger things - whether that's from a small house to a big house, or a small office to a bigger one. For the 'Five Fortunes' star he mentions that that this signifies that it will be 5 rooms in that bigger house, or 5 different businesses (that you start? I wasn't clear) - whatever you get into, it'll come in a lucky number of 5 - so make sure if you're moving upwards in the world that's the way you're doin' it!
In addition, there are three other stars - 'Sky Happiness', 'Sky Chef' and 'Studious Nature' stars - which will bring, respectively:
- Major events of happiness / things to celebrate (e.g. getting married, having kids, growing in relationships with sponsors and friends etc.)
- Great leaps and strides in the world of food, drink, and being merry (I usually interpret this as parties, nice meals, and great company)
- Innovation, continued learning opportunities, creativity, and great strides in new and novel things
However, there are 5 unlucky stars that combat this major luck:
- The 'Stranger' Star combined with the 'Sickness' star means that your emotional and physical lives will have big changes - it is recommended that you go to a doctor for a full body check up as soon as the year changes over. Don't do anything too rash, or impulsive, or that will require you to expend effort over and above what you're used to.
- The 'Prison' star, which apparently has to do with saying things that will lead to arguments (all the way to legal ramifications as well!). Just don't run yo damn MOUTH you SNEK.
- The 'Earth Net' and 'Lonely House' stars are bad for Snakes - you'll have these annoying hanger-ons around you that will impact your friendships, and may cause you to withdraw into yourself and not have any fun with your actual friends :(
Romance-wise, the 'Sky Happiness' star is one of the top romance stars - so it will be really good for finding love and getting married. However, due to the impact of the 'Stranger' and 'Prison' stars, the emotional landscape will be treacherous and complex - perhaps pushing you into scams or legal trouble. Stay VIGILANT (as Mad-Eye Moody says) and observe people properly before committing anything (money or emotion-wise), lest they bring you bad luck.
Health-wise, with the 'Sickness' star in play, health is a major concern. It's important to get that check-up as mentioned earlier - don't take it lightly. Our fengshui master recommends that you attend as many 'happy' events that you can - this is usually around parties, or weddings, or friend catchups. Keeping your mental on lock is going to be the way to battle against this 'Sickness' star!
In summary: It's a year of many glow-ups and happy situations, but you gotta make sure you're healthy enough for them. Keep your luck generating throughout the year by going to happy events, which will help to dispel some of that negative energy this year. Stay healthy, keep up with your sponsors, and you'll swim through a lovely year of luck.
🐎 Horse - The Year of Relationship Dramas with Villainous Intent: This year, your luck is a bit middling; our fengshui master is saying to make sure you patch up older friendships and relationships to help counter this. Last year there were 5 lucky stars to keep galloping ahead with; this year, there will be boons to your work life, but make sure not to gallop too far ahead - enjoy the present and keep a level head!
The key lucky stars this year are the 'Sun Luck' and 'Eight Thrones' stars. The 'Sun Luck' star represents the warm and energizing rays from the sun that will help bolster your energy levels throughout the year and become a positive guiding force in the community. The 'Eight Thrones' star is one of the best work-related stars, portending great luck in work, and allowing for great expansion and progress going forward. In addition, Horses have a 'Sky Solve' and 'Solution God' stars which help to turn unlucky situations into lucky ones - essentially, these are kinda like defensive stars for the complexities and difficulties that they'll be put through this year.
In terms of unlucky stars, we have a few - 'Blood Spear', 'Sky Dog' (one of the worst ones) - most to do with "losing money like you're drunk", uncertainty in your relationships, and easily getting into relationship drama (specifically with romantic partners). These unlucky stars will also bring about a 'blood crisis' - which is usually an event where blood is spilled in some way - see later for tips in how to avoid this. In addition, with the 'Lonely House' star, husbands and wives will lose a bit of the spark in their romance, which is okay if you've both got your own lives outside of each other going, but something to keep in mind. There is heavy risk of cheating (if you're single) or cold wars (if you're married), so his advice is to 1. stop going out so much at night (I think he means nightlife type activities) and if you do have to go out, 2. make sure you go out into the community / cultural events to feel less lonely. Lastly, the 'Drowning' star means that in hard situations, you will find it hard to choose the right thing to do. Hopefully your lucky stars can come to the rescue - be on alert!
To dive deeper into the 'Sky Dog', its whole thing is that it 'swallows the moon', which means that this year, you will encounter some really evil people in your life, and it'll be easy to be injured when you try to fight back (he's not specific as to whether this is physical or emotional hurt). This means you should be cautious of meeting new people - I'm guessing in case they turn about to be villains? OR MAYBE THEY'RE IN THEIR VILLAIN ERA. The stars always know 👀
Health-wise, look, you've seen there are a ton of unlucky stars this year. So you have to make sure you're looking out for any blades, or blood crises (go get a blood test at the start of the year to try and waylay some of this!!). Don't go and do any cosmetic surgery, and keep an eye on your stress - it's going to be a rough ride so stay as healthy as you can.
In summary: Work is good, relationships suck, spend more time in the community and keep your health in good shape. It's a year to work on yourself, recharge your batteries, and let go of the stress.
🐑 Sheep - The Year of Keeping the Lucky Hand Rolling...AGAIN: This year, you're second luckiest in the Zodiac! What a win. Sheep have been in the top 3 of luck for the last 2 years - and this is apparently the third year of great luck (what the hell! share some luck around goddammit). Last year you had 5 lucky stars, this year you have 4 SUPER lucky stars that protect you and bring you greater fortune. I don't know what the exchange rate between 'lucky' and 'super lucky' stars are but I'm sure it nets out pretty well.
This year you will be well loved by everyone (again), noted for your achievements (again), be recognised for your cleverness (again) and have a lot of sponsors who want to help you get to even greater heights (again!). These are supported by three super lucky stars - the 'Sky Karma', 'Fortune Karma' and 'Fortune' stars - the 'Sky Karma' is the TOP star of all the lucky stars, and means that you will have as much luck and fortune as the breadth of the sky - the most respected, the most successful, the most of the most. All the superlatives! Both the fortune stars relate to helping to continue your longevity and fortune, money just KEEPS coming at ya. As the old chinese saying goes (I don't know if I'm translating this particularly well but), "If you want the wind, you have the wind. If you want rain, you have the rain." = whatever you want, you got it. This is the year to plan well, and open up glorious new opportunities for your LIFE.
In terms of unlucky stars, there is a untranslatable star I'll call 'Bad Star No. 1' which is linked to 'unlucky events - usually to do with death' - which means you should look out for you and your family's health. On 'unlucky' days (as according to the lunar calendars you can get), don't go out traveling, or do risky things. Another 'Wrapped Tongue' star relates to rumours, and arguments - Sheep will be more likely to get into arguments and say things that they don't mean which will hurt others. Mr. Fengshui master says that, just like water off a duck's back, let it go and don't worry about what other people think. The 'Lonely House' star is also shining upon Sheep, which means that female Sheep will become much more engrossed in their artistic hobbies and work (translators note: why is this a bad thing) and neglect their relationships (oh I get it - traditional Chinese tings).
Romance-wise is the only area where Sheep don't really have any strong stars that shine on them. But because of the strength of the fortune stars, Sheep are good with relationships in general, so should use that to their benefit. Female Sheep should keep in mind the 'Lonely House' star, as this may lead to their relationships growing cold (for whatever reason). Look after your family, try to ride the waves of the year, and it'll be fine.
Health-wise, this year there aren't too many unlucky stars relating to crises - other than the 'Flying Spear' and 'Sheep Spear' - which sound bad but both relate to blade related blood crises. That means, no cosmetic surgery (try not to get into any surgery tbh) and as always, get a blood test. His advice is to make sure that you try and sit at round tables to eat, to take meetings, to sit at, in order to promote more 'harmony' with others, including your rivals / enemies. This will help to try and combat some of the unluckiness that you might encounter during the year. This year, anything relating to the 'South' is a severely bad direction for Sheep, and you should put some fengshui stuff in your house on the south-side (and then he links his own products so...take that with a grain of salt :D).
In summary: GREAT year for Sheep, keep going hard at it and harvest all the fortune and wealth that's coming for you. What a great Year of the Dragon it's going to be :D
🐒 Monkey - The Year of Tolerant Main Character Energy: The luck is in the top third of the Zodiac (you're 4th), and it's time to make some great memories this year. Last year you were the top, and yes, you may have slid 3 places, but coming into the year of the Dragon, you should be able to keep pushing ahead with your plans, especially with Three Lucky Sponsors who will appear in your life to set the foundations of your year, and create your "empire" (at work, anyway).
With regard to the lucky stars this year - you've got the 'Sky Doctor' star which means you have this...'healing aura' that can help solve lots of things for people (both medically, physically, and mentally). If you're a Monkey Doctor - congrats, your healing is going to be DOUBLE as effective. However, it also brings with it tendencies towards depression, mental health issues etc. so be on the look out for those and make sure you keep your mental health strong and healthy. In addition, Monkeys are usually good at 'unlocking' other people - whether that's in their potential, or the knots they've tied themselves into - maybe it could be a good thing to try that on yourself this year.
This year, the again untranslatable 'Wa Koi' star will give you some ~ * main character energy * ~ and make you be the star of the show. It'll be based on your own efforts, and smarts, and cleverness, and the results will show based on your own efforts. Because of how strong this 'Wa Koi' star is, male Monkeys will have no problems in their relationships; for female Monkeys, they will be 'Empresses' and rule their households and work lives!
This is because of the 'White Tiger' star (which studious readers of this newsletter will know is one of the worse stars to have), and relates to rumour-mongering, but also creating bad situations in general. This, in conjunction with the 'Wa Koi' star means that the Empress energy is good in terms of success, but perhaps bad in terms of the rumours that will swirl around you. In addition, the 'White Tiger' star is not great for children, so be careful if you're trying to have kids to make sure you look after yourself during your pregnancy. There is a half-good half-bad star called the 'Mystical [Something]', which when combined with the aptly named 'Big Kill' star, brings with it sudden crises, uncertainty and (bad) breakthroughs. It's not something that you can really defend against, apparently. The word to remember this year is 'tolerance' because you're definitely going to say something bad if you're not careful, and cause even worse situations to come up. (translator's note: he's saying Monkeys are liable to say dumb shit that will have bad consequences).
Luckily, you have the 'Three Unities' with the Dragon this year, which means that if you hang around Dragons enough, it'll bring greater fortune, and more protection against these bad stars. These also bring you the three big sponsors that you should look out for - maybe they'll be Dragons too? :D
Health-wise, it's a good year - you got the 'Sky Doctor' star with you, so you're sitting pretty. Female Monkeys be careful of blood crises (again, go get a blood test at the start of the year), as well as pregnancies and other accidents.
In summary: It's a year of MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY - go and show the world how great YOU are as a person, and let the fortune of the year fold around you. And remember, the word of this year is 'tolerance' :D
🐓Rooster (me!) - The Year of W I N N I N G: FELLOW ROOSTERS UNITE we are number 1 luck bois and gals this yearrrr. Last year was a year of uncertainty, of having luck washed away, of questioning yourself - you know the stress and pain you went through. This year, it's a major rebound from the bottom of the barrel all the way to the TOP. There are supremely strong lucky stars - the 'Dragon Karma' and 'Purple Beauty' stars - "if you want wind, you got wind; if you want rain, you got rain". Finally, after years of struggle, FINALLY, we get some good luck!!
The two lucky stars above, in conjunction with the fact that Roosters and Dragons have SIX UNITIES prove that there is nothing that can stop the luck spilling from Roosters this year. All the stresses of life will be gone, you'll be able to squeeze all the bad luck out of your year, you'll be able to put your whole weight and focus into opening up new opportunies, and letting go of the things holding you back from making sure you create your beautiful new future. This luck will extend to relationships - both for romance, and for sponsors, but will require some control. This year, Roosters will be specially noticed and welcomed - you'll find perfect partners at work, you'll be able to work well to push things forward, and the sponsors around you will be of great help. Apparently there are also ancestors who are hanging around that are helping you subtly - but I couldn't really decipher how they were doing that...he just says to pray to your ancestors for help and they'll be there for you. (translator's note: Mum was also confused about this because ancestors aren't actually ghosts who hang around...they don't really affect the world, so why would you pray to them? You just burn paper mansions so they can live well in the afterlife - but they don't do it the other way around!)
There are unlucky stars - 'Explosion Loss', the 'Sky Emergency' star, 'Flying Spear' and also the 'Drowning Sunset' stars - these are about crises that happen across the year, and will create a bunch of problems for Roosters and keep them busy. It may also lead to sicknesses. The 'Drowning Sunset' star is about falling in love in the wrong places - so his advice is don't get drunk and go out too much - and with the 'Flying Spear' star, being careful of bladed crises (blood test again lol). Be careful in getting into complicated romantic relationships, as it may trigger those blade crises (this is kinda scary...?!).
Romance-wise (okay here we go...!), because of the Six Unities with the Dragon, it is extremely lucky for romance (YES!!!!!). If you're young and still in school, Mr. Square Fengshui master says 'FOCUS ON YOUR STUDIES'. If you're older, be careful not to get into too many 'flower gardens' i.e. areas where there could be risk of the wrong kinds of relationships happening. If you just pass the year as normal, it's going to be a good year for romance; husbands and wives will get better, relationships will start - what a wonderful time. Just make sure that because of the 'Drowning Sunset' star, you aren't getting into...complicated situations while in your marriage.
Health-wise, there's a lot of sexual health related issues - with womb issues for women, prostate for men etc. (translator's note: I think he's implying that it comes from all the sex you're gonna have). As always, there's blade crisis issues, so be careful of hand/foot injuries, cosmetic surgery, go get a blood test (as always) etc. Make sure that every day you keep a smiling face, and you'll heal from all your sicknesses! (not a doctor)
In summary: It's the year of ABSOLUTE WINNING ENERGY for Roosters. Use all your effort to go and get what you need done, don't be so hard on yourself, make your plans, use the fortune that's coming with you, and leverage the sponsors at your back - it's going to be a GREAT year.
🐕 Dog - The Year of Needing to Mooch Fortune Off Others: 'Tis a 'name year' for Dogs this year, so the luck is down the drain unfortunately. Going into the Year of the Dragon, Dogs will need to prepare for a number of battles. Sure, the 'name year' is going to be a 'out with the old, in with the new', but it's still going to be a bunch of change, and finding the opportunity within that change will be key.
There are three 'Lucky Gods' that are helping to protect Dogs somewhat - one of them being the 'Country Seal Sponsor'(?) which means you will encounter a very competent person, who's extremely good at their craft, and can teach you all of their "kungfu"! The Sponsor brings reputation along with them as well, especially at work, so make sure you mutually support them as well, as it's a low year for you - don't try too much, just stay in your lane, otherwise you'll be put in some more dangerous situations.
There is a 'Day Karma' star this year - which is about the energy that comes from the sun and that #sunny disposition - apparently there will be a lot of volunteering and community-related activities that you will have the opportunity to get into. The 'Moon' star is another lucky god, helping Dogs become 'spokespeople' to speak the truth and sell themselves and others good points - but since this is usually against Dog's nature (as they usually are more reserved), it will be a significant battle. The fengshui master says that this will be a good lesson for you, and it will stay for a long time - so I guess it's just a 'roll with the punches' situations here.
In terms of unlucky stars, it's mainly about your money. The 'Big Harvest' star means you should be careful about your investments, and being scammed. Having one big break in your finances (as in, one big expense) is going to be something you can't really get around, so try to do more nice things in the world (e.g. charity work - or maybe even donating to charity?) so that you can feel better about how that money gets spent. In addition, there is a 'Break' star and an untranslatable other star - where it is about putting up barriers in your life. Everything is hard, people will start rumours about you, accidents will be more likely to happen - just try to stay inside and don't travel too much (lol).
To try and combat this unluckiness, hang out with Roosters (who are the top luck this year), as well as Monkeys (because they have some lucky sponsors). Also the most important thing to keep in mind is Family, as that will be the easiest place to shelter from the unlucky storms ahead.
Romance-wise, kinda shit. It's going to be all over the place, ups and downs, lefts and rights, and because of the unlucky stars, Dogs will need to be careful about how the approach key relationships in their life. If you were planning to get married this year, don't - and make sure you don't get into any situations where you might get into affairs or complicated situations.
Health-wise, get a blood test to reduce the chance of blood and blade crises - health is always a priority in a name year. Be careful of your heart, your stomach, your lungs - they're all at risk (what isn't D:). The worst time of the year is April 4 - May 4 for this, be doubly careful about yourself around this time.
In summary: Just look after yourself this year - there's a lot of storms on the way, but if you can weather it bravely as it comes, you'll (hopefully) be fine. Spend some big money sometime in the year so that when you have that 'finance' break, it's under your control. Do the best that you can, don't stress too much - that'll be enough for this year.
🐖Pig - The Year of Being Really Fuckin' Hot: Whatever you want to do this year, just do it. Your luck is average, but it's fine - you can kinda just live and vibe this year. Last year was a good year for work, so hopefully Pigs were happy with that. Coming into the Year of the Dragon, Pigs are going to have a GREAT romance year (due to being really fuckin' hot and attractive), whereas work will just be so-so, so it nets out.
This year romance-wise, Pigs are under the "Red Fairy" star, which is also known as the 'YOU GON BE EXTREMELY HOT THIS YEAR' star. It means you'll find your ideal partner; otherwise, if you're already in a relationship it's a good year to propose / get married, and start getting your family plans in order. (translator's note: He puts a sidenote here which is that modern people might not like to get married, but that moving in together is the new FASHUN and also counts). This year, Pigs are wealthy in relationships, not just romantic but with friends as well. If you're already married be careful of getting into complicated situations where, well, temptation abounds.
Pigs have a 'Moon Karma' lucky star which helps with solving complex situations in life; there is another untranslatable one that is about finding success in work that is very far away from you - as in, you'll have to travel, or move to a new environment to continue your growth. Another lucky star, the 'Secret Fate' star means that you'll have a lot of 'secretive fortune' (lolwut is this). Yet another lucky star, the 'Sentence House' star, means that you'll be able to use your smooth-talkin' and persuasive nature to be able to become a leader, or really good at selling yourself (and others) for work; anything to do with your 'mouth' is going to be good for work - take advantage of this!
Weirdly, there's also a 'Travel Crisis' star which points to crises that happen if you immigrate, or if you invest overseas, or travel in general (I think). It's coupled with literally the 'Death Sign' star, which means you need to look after your health and any chronic illnesses you have - make sure you're up to date on vaccinations etc. and look out for sudden accidents (though...if they're sudden I'm not sure how you'd look out for them). The 'Little Harvest' star means it'll be easy for you to lose your wealth through bad partners or scams. Pigs should also get better at using their fortune for the betterment of society, and stop squandering it on unnecessary luxuries.
tl;dr - There's a balance between good and bad stars this year, so net net it'll be fine
An additional tip from the health side of things - he mentions that specifically you should look out for your uterus, prostate, intestine and other organs. I don't know how you'd do that but uh...just do it. Be careful of surgeries, and get some early health checkups at the start of the year. Make sure you do your exercise, look after your body, and get out into nature.
In summary: Its a year of LUUURVE so go out and get 'em tiger! or pig I guess. The rest of the year is so-so, just be careful of scams, and look after your health. Look further than just this year - plan for a bigger future ahead :)
🐀 Rat - The Year of Luck If You Learn Taichi: Top 3 luck this year! Just be calm, be cool, and you're gonna swim through (like that scene in Ratatouille). Last year was your love year apparently (hope you got hitched in some way shape or form!); Rats and Dragons have the Three Unities, so there'll be a lot of great community involvement and a lot of lucky things happening to you.
All this luck comes from a few places - one of which is the 'Sun Karma' star which shines upon you with all the energy of the Sun (not the Teletubbies one), helping to enhance your spirit, energy, and be welcomed by everyone in your life. You're gonna be a WINNER this year - those with lots of friends are going to have lots of benefits too!
For work, you've got the Three Unities, but also the 'Three Stages', which means that you'll advance in all the areas that you're good at. These are going to help you succeed at work, climb the promotion ladder, and make more moneyyy. There will be new breakthroughs in your personal and career development as well. The 'Wa Koi' star helps with your creative spirit, and helps Rats become more open and smart in new situations, which people will definitely notice. It's about showing a new, different side of you! However, female Rats will, with the 'Wa Koi' star, look at bit too assertive and / or bossy, which means it's easier to feel isolated (translator note: I think he's bein' kinda misogynistic here but the chinese stars are the chinese stars I guess), and feel a bit separated from your marriage. This year, there's a star that's more potent that the 'Wa Koi' star though - which is the 'Monster Shield' star, which serves as a defence to the monster gods that bring bad fortune! So maybe Rats can breathe a bit easier.
Some other lucky stars - the 'Sky Doctor' star: which helps with solving and healing yourself and others (especially if you're a doctor, or someone in the medical services / products industry as well). There is also the 'Taichi Sponsor' and the 'Fortune Sponsor' stars which, when encountered with the 'Sky Doctor' star together is really good for wellness and culture type jobs. With these stars, Rats will be interested in, and love to do TaiChi (lol), go to gym and yoga classes, and anything that helps to train and hone their bodies.
Regarding unlucky stars, there is the 'Five Ghosts', which is to do with annoying people hanging around, moving all their bad luck to you, stealing yo' money (?) and leading to danger or disaster. The 'Flying Talisman' and 'Court Talisman' stars are about getting into legal trouble with the court (the flying is about how fast the summons gets to you lmao) so...uh...stay on the right side of the law this year? Also, since you're going to do so well at work this year, it's gonna cause a bunch of jealousy and people sniping at you behind your back - so just stay calm and try to do more good karma things in your life that will help you get over all this negative energy.
Romance-wise, if you're not married, you'll have a full and fortunate year finding someone and developing a great relationship; if you're already married, you'll need to make sure you avoid too much love from...other places. Apparently, this is most important for those who were born in 1960 - they are at most risk of romantic scams, and affairs. Rats are party animals, apparently, so be careful! (translator's note: If you're not a party animal you're against type)
Health-wise, you're relatively stable this year physically - not too much change to look out for. But that annoying person is gonna make it so your emotional state will be a bit unsteady, talking shit behind your back and all. He literally says 'learn to be a Taichi master so that you can keep yourself really REALLY calm'. Be most careful between August 8 to September 8 - that's the most dangerous time (apparently) for accidents and heart attacks (wow dramatic much?).
In summary: Rats are gonna do well this year - finding opportunities left and right, getting their sponsors to give them a leg up, and essentially, giving them hope in work and romance. It's going to be a happy one :)
🐂 Ox - The Year of Resistance, Isolation, and the Peasant Explosion: This year, it ain't a great one. The way to win the year is to stay low, keep your head down, and just keep on keeping on. It's one of the bad name years, which means that there might be some friends-become-enemies energy happening, a little dash of isolation, a big dose of pushback...sigh, just be prepared to get through a harder year. Last year wasn't too good either, with not much change, and a relatively stagnant Year of the Rabbit. Coming into the Year of the Dragon, your luck is on an upswing, but because of a 'name year', that upswing is going to be unfortunately limited.
This year, Oxes have a few lucky stars - the 'Winners Belt', which is a celebration star, one which represents the fact that Oxes have entered a more mature phase of their life, and should serve as good encouragement for their lives. In addition, they have the 'Sky B' Star and the 'Tai Yin' star, which are two lucky stars related to innovation and buying houses (?). These two stars together also lead to greater partnerships with others, an increased reputation, and some good news on the relationships front - especially for female Oxes.
However, on the unlucky star sides, there are a few. The 'name year' brings a lot of stress and external pressures - with the 'Dregs' star bringing complications to all aspects of life, and getting mixed up in things that Oxes shouldn't be (in extreme cases, getting in trouble with the law!). The other big unlucky star is the 'Peasant Explosion' (translator note: pretty sure this is wrong but it's funny so I'm keeping it) which is about losing money and fortune. When Oxes try to develop and grow this year, they will encounter a lot of resistance - those who put in a lot will not get a lot back. Even if success is really well planned, the actual implementation is going to be very hard - so be prepared for that.
Oxes are usually stubborn, and aren't always good with other people, preferring to be alone and solving their own problems rather than reaching out for help. This year, it will be important to try and access those relationships, and reach out when help is needed - it would be best to hang around Roosters, Snakes, or Rats, who have better luck this year, and can help dispel some of the unlucky energy of the year.
From a romance perspective, there is some luck from the 'Tai Yin' star - if you're not married, this year might be one where you'll be able to find someone new. Female Oxes specifically will have a very interesting (in a good way!) year. Main thing is not to be too intense and bring on your own complications - it's a 'name year' after all, and your emotions may get the better of you. Even marriage has a bit of an amber light in terms of luck - so make sure you tend to it appropriately.
Health-wise, obviously, 'name year' - so make sure that you get your blood test, full health check, be careful of blades, be careful of stressors during the year (especially at work) which might bring on chronic illnesses or nervous system problems. Just be tolerant as much as you can, and let things go.
In summary: This year is a bit of a rollercoaster as it's a 'name year' - don't worry about winning or losing, just take the journey as it is. Stay chill, stay relaxed, and just let the world pass through - that's the best way to succeed this year.
🐅 Tiger - The Year of Working Harder so you don't encounter Lusty Evil: Sorry, just below average at 7th for your luck this year. Last year, friends, work and love had a lot of new developments, and Tigers should be happy about that. Coming into the Year of the Dragon, Tigers will keep up with their innovative and creative energy, wealth will still stay strong; as long as they can keep their emotions in check.
This year, the 'Staying Court' lucky star represents the Tiger's need to create and be independent - Tigers always love a little risk, and they want to be their own boss, create their own company or business, and not have to work for others. This year is the year to do that - courageously go forward and build their own lives. In addition, the 'Fate of the Gods' lucky star shines on Tigers, and is one of the best wealth stars, with fortune continuously coming in without stopping, and the 'Lucky Star Sponsor' that will help enhance your work life significantly. The 'Sky [Something]' star is a star that dispels bad energy and can help you solve crises in your life. As long as you're steadfast in your resolve, and take advantage of the right opportunities, work will become easy, you'll get really great returns, and this year will have lots of work turn into lots of success.
It's a bit spicy on the unlucky star front - I count at least 4 which is not a small number. The first, the 'Sky Tears' impacts your mental and emotional health - often you'll be unhappy, and get into misunderstandings with people really easily. In addition, there is a 'Despair Door' star, which represents some 'events of despair' that will happen this year, meaning you will need to use a lot of energy to deal with friends and family's problems. With the 'Dai Fung' star, there will be accidents that cause injury, and in extreme cases, loss of limbs / disability (translator's note: what the hell this is going hard).
Lastly, the 'Lusty Evil' star points to Tigers getting into messy romantic situations (duh, it's in the name), and should try to avoid too much drinking that may lead to...incorrect decisions. He specifically states that you might get into too many relationships that are bad for you, and that it's going to be hard to avoid this bad luck. If you're already married, try not to indulge in the nightlife too much, and enjoy your family time. For younger Tigers, be careful of getting scammed or trapped into relations that you don't want to be in. For older Tigers, be careful of nostalgia and reminiscing about people. This year, just don't turn your mind to romance - just pour yourself into work and forget about all this stuff!
Health-wise, you're pretty stable this year from a physical health perspective. Most of the issues will come from a mental and emotional lens - not being able to keep your temper, or trying to be too arrogant and failing - it's important to try and spend more time being calm and generous to others. Tigers need to learn to put down their burdens, ask for help, and go out into the community to help others. Because of the 'Lusty Evil' star, also look out for STD's and prostate issues (lol). Also, be careful of your limbs and tendons being injured by things with gold in them (???), and be careful when you're exercising.
In summary: Just pour yourself into work this year - it's the best way you'll get money, and the 'Lusty Evil' star is staring you down going 'YOU REALLY WANNA GET AN STD'? Just imagine that. And then try and make sure you put your head down, go and work HARDER, don't brag and get on the wrong side of relationships - just keep making that CASH and look after your mental. Phew.
🐇 Rabbit - The Year of Having A Sunny Outlook: Smack bang in the middle, Rabbits have medium luck this year. The summary of the year is to make sure that you look at the bigger picture, and don't sweat the small stuff (remember, it's all small stuff :D). Last year, though it was a 'name year', there were a bunch of lucky stars that got you through. Coming into the Year of the Dragon, Rabbits will stay on that lucky streak, and will have middling fortune as it's another 'name year' (I really don't know how these work I guess...).
This year you have the 'Lucky Emperor' star, which points to the biggest W's at work, as large as the sun is at it's peak in the sky - everything you do will be successful, and you'll be making CASHHHHH. In addition, you have the 'Sun' star, which is a super good lucky star to have - it shines on you and gives you great confidence in everything that you do, you become more attractive to others (especially from a romance / marriage perspective). There is also the 'Ban'an' star, which is an external development star, where your reputation will expand overseas. With all these three work stars together, you're going to have a lot of luck with work / career - especially if you work remotely, or invest overseas, or migrate overseas! This is the year to really push hard at work, with luck pouring in from every direction, which will also lead to a lot of appreciation for your hard work.
Your 'name year' means that you'll have 'evil people' in your life that are trying to take you down - this year, Rabbits need to make sure they are wary of who they interact with in the community, as they'll be targets for scams. Be vigilant! The 'Empty Sky' star brings about a lot of change in your life, and it's uncertain as to whether those changes are good or bad, leading to some shaky emotional territory. In addition, there is the 'Sighing' star - you'll take sicknesses quite badly and your luck will not flow as smoothly. The 'Lamb Knife' means you need to be careful of blood crises. However, the 'Sun' star will help to dispel some of this energy outwards, helping to reduce their impact.
Romance-wise, the 'Sun' star saves the day once again, making you attractive to potential partners, and in society as well. However, the 'name year' will bring some smaller annoyances. There'll be a lot of crushes this year which you should take advantage of, but you should not indulge in promiscuity (lmaooo). The 'Ban'an' star means you'll have a chance to go overseas to find love as well. If you encounter any Sheep, your partnership will be 3x as good as you have the Three Unities with them, and you'll dispel some of the 'name year' energy as well.
From a health perspective, there aren't too many bad stars. As stated before, the 'Lamb Knife' star points to a bladed crisis (so go get a blood test to get rid of that energy), be careful of surgery. There'll be a few mood / emotional health things you'll have to deal with, but just try to relax and take the year as it is.
In summary: Look further out for what you want your vision of the future to be - don't sweat the small stuff, and use the Sun's energy to push your agenda at work. Keep a hold of your temper, and relax - control what you can, and don't worry about what you can't.
