Fall 2025 application deadline extended to TONIGHT Sep 15th

Greetings lovely human,

The deadline to submit applications for the Fall 2025 cohort has been extended to tonight, September 15th.

>>>>APPLY HERE<<<<

We need a few more members in order to make this cohort happen! There is currently no external funding for this project and so I'm relying on the sliding scale membership to fund this program. If you don't have capacity to join the project but would like to sponsor a spot - please get in touch.

In recent years we have seen lots of checklists, guides, news articles, and content come out regarding the privacy concerns with social media platforms, digital security practices for activists, the risks of AI and surveillance tech, etc. I know I have been 'saving' posts on social media and keeping dozens of tabs open for years in the hopes that I will return to them some day... Sound familiar?

The Very Offline Club is a chance to pay sustained attention to these matters for 12 weeks, integrating digital security and privacy knowledge and practices with political analysis, in an accessible, playful, and supportive format.

The digital divide is not just about who has access to tech, or who is represented in tech companies, but who gets to shape the digital spheres that increasingly dominate our digital and non-digital lives.

I want us to have agency and autonomy over this technology.

As your "context creator" I bring my training and work experience in cybersecurity, leftist organizing, healing justice, and Chinese medicine to co-create this container with you.

The Fall 2025 cohort runs Wednesday evenings from Sep 24 - Dec 10. Full schedule in the link below.

Some muscles we aim to build:

  • Offline social connection (awkwardness, belly laughs and all)
  • Embracing ephemerality (experiences come and they end, not everything can be retrieved later)
  • Attention span for longer form reading and thinking
  • Tolerating boredom and discomfort
  • Self-attunement

Some habits we will be seeking to move away from:

  • Isolation
  • Overriding discomfort
  • Turning away from reality

If this sounds like it's up your speed, I'd love to hear from you.

See you offline,

-G
