(This originally went out on Eric’s birthday, February 17, but went missing from the archives until the nice Buttondown folks helped me get it back.)

Eric would have been 52 years old today.

I worked. Ben went to school. The college kids did their college and work and life things in their respective apartments. It… it was a regular day.

If it seems like I’ve dropped off the earth it’s because I don’t know how to write about everything that has been going on. But I’m going to give it a go.

A note ahead of this post: Because litigation is ongoing, I can’t discuss details — only how this experience has affected our family. We continue to respect the legal process and will continue to pursue our options through the courts.
