Man2Man: Updates and Encouragements for Holy Week
Men,
I hope you and your families are doing well. In the midst of uncertainty, I’m praying for y’all (during this Holy Week) that you would find comfort in the cross of Christ and what was accomplished at Calvary. We will be streaming Good Friday and Easter services this weekend.
I’d like to occasionally share with y’all some sources of encouragement. Please feel free to pass these along to the guys at your table and consider keeping in touch with one another through texts, phone calls, and Zoom meetings. For information on how to facilitate one of these digital forms of fellowship, click here.
As you reach out and talk to other men, consider asking the following questions…
- What have you learned about 1) the Lord 2) yourself during this time of quarantine?
- How have you been loving and serving your family?
- What have you been reading, watching, listening to for encouragement?
- How can I pray for you?*
For those of you not on social media, we’ve been putting out short devotionals from Buster twice a week and then uploading them to our digital resources page on the website. Check out Buster’s most recent message below 👇

“John Piper on the Coronavirus and Christ”
On this episode of Gospelbound, John Piper talks with Collin Hansen (TGC Editor) about what God is doing in this pandemic and how to pray for its end.
I adore this album by Shane & Shane. Psalm 145 is particuarly good.
John Krasinski, probably best known for his roles in The Office and Jack Ryan recently created a short news show dedicated only to “Some Good News.” Here, in episode 2, he is joined by some special guests. It is both fun and entertaining.
I found the following quote from AW Tozer so, so good.
“The real Christian is an odd number anyway. He feels supreme love for One whom he has never seen, talks familiarly every day to Someone he cannot see, expects to go to heaven on the virtue of Another, empties himself in order to be full, admits he is wrong so he can be declared right, goes down in order to get up, is strongest when he is weakest, richest when he is poorest, and happiest when he feels worst. He dies so he can live, forsakes in order to have, gives away so he can keep, sees the invisible, hears the inaudible, and knows that which passeth knowledge.” -AW Tozer, The Root of Righteousness
Although we remain ungathered, let’s continue to work together to pursue the Lord and grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. Enjoy these resources/diversions and let me know if I can ever be of any help to you.
In Christ,
Van
