vaguesteph newsletter: maid costume
"25-04-19"
i guess this is the way everything goes with newsletters/ blogging: some things end up coming in the way and then you have to make a spectacle out of apologizing. that's okay. i'm here! there's a one page comic i made a few weeks ago to read! please enjoy!
the screenshot in it is from this piece, but the screenshotted part is what i was interested in most. sometimes these certain sentences just get stuck and then that's it! i found it through this are.na board collection by someone who's working on their thesis about love.
re: the maid dragon show... honestly? i don't think there's really worth saying more about it than was said in the comic. but i read this interview with a yuri light novel author today and am especially interested in the parts where they talk about virtual youtubers:
"You're presented with raw, exposed emotions, and the line between character role-play and the real 'self' leaking out from the soul gets blurrier and blurrier..."
i love thinking about character & "real self"... conceptualising them as fields moving into and out of each other & not as opposites... and the concept of "leaking" in roleplay which one of my friends introduced me to.
i already have a plan for the next newsletter, which will be an english text version of a performance i gave a few weeks ago that deals with some of those ideas! preparations for the performance/ exhibition is one of the reasons for my absence.
i can't wait to share it with you! consider this a soft hello before the next treat, i'm waving 2 you from the opposite side of the street. :-)
*if you want to talk to me or comment on anything, reply to this newsletter or email me at vaguesteph @ gmail. thanks for reading!*
