vaguesteph newsletter: collectively made up as a clown (egirl style)
„opacity“
happy new year! :~) i’m wishing everyone strength and joy for 2020.
here’s some things i’ve read recently:
+ On Hating Men (And Becoming One Anyway)
+ THE TYRANNY of STRUCTURELESSNESS
i stumbled across the second text through recommendations by several people and i also saw it linked on twitter. i would like to think more about how people can do work together in ways that feel empowering, productive and careful.
for christmas, i was gifted the See Red Women’s Workshop book. See Red was a marxist feminist silkscreen studio and poster collective in britain that worked in the 70s - 90s. you can see some of the posters on their website. my favorite poster is my wife doesn’t work - it is a poster, but also a comic! i think it’s so beautiful. the book also has a few drawings in it, showing members of the collective together in the workshop, printing posters and discussing plans. i found them very touching (and visually related to the question: how can we organize work together?) i really recommend this book!
i would like to find more time to draw just for myself in 2020. thesis project is still in progress, it’s challenging but also fun. let me know what's up with you or if you read any interesting books or texts recently! :~)
xoxo, steph
