AI chooses who to kill

Just two week ago, I mentioned humanoid robots that were being deployed on the frontlines of Ukraine-Russia war. Well, looks like things can get much worse before they get any better. Also, it may be that the Skynet in this timeline is much dumber, but maybe almost as lethal.

AI, specifically Claude, is being used to injest surveillance, plan and generally speed up targeting decisions. So far there has been a ‘human in the loop’ because even though Dario Amodie would personally wish it (it seems), their systems are just not good enough to be autonomous killing machines, yet.

Maven Smart Systems, the tool that claude runs in, has been in the past touted as being capable of making 1000 targeting decisions in a hour, is deployed in the current Iran war.

NGA director Frank Whitworth said last year that a 20 people team has exceeded the targeting efficiency of a 2000 member cell at the time of Iraq war.

1000 targeting decision per hour. Human in a 20 people team reviewing AI decisions, collectively doing the work of 2000 people. Sounds familiar?

In another news, more than 100 children were killed in the very first few hours of American barrage of 1000 strikes on Iran at the start of this war.

A project I discovered want to share

Building the future of independent decentralized publishing.

None

I’ve been following the development and waiting for the release of offprint for a few months. This week, it was finally launched just in time for the ATmosphereConf 2026.

A photo I took

I know it was a heavy post this week, that’s why I posted late. I will be back to posting on Sundays next week. Until then ✌️
