Find win-win solutions with the Conflict Resolution Diagram
Hi there, it’s Adam from Untools.
Today, I’m bringing you a new thinking tool. It’s from the problem-solving category with focus on conflicts, as the name suggests: Conflict Resolution Diagram
It was developed by an Israeli consultant Eliyahu Goldratt in the 1980s as part of the Theory of Constraints. While it originated in manufacturing, the ideas can be applied to knowledge work as well. ToC contains several wonderful thinking tools and it’s likely I’ll bring you another in the future as I explore this theory more.
Back to the Conflict Resolution Diagram, though: It’s really useful for finding win-win solutions to conflicts where it seems impossible to advance. The idea is about finding a shared objective and working together from there.

Best, Adam
P.S. I read every message from you. Even if I’m not able to respond to all of them, I love to hear your feedback so feel free to share.
