Apps to use with Untools + Worksheets coming soon
Hi folks, it's Adam from Untools.
I've been receiving questions about what are some interactive apps that can be used for applying various thinking tools.
I've collected several such apps and would love to share them with you. On top of that, I have a small update below about what's coming next to Untools.
Let's dive into the apps first. Hopefully, these can help you put some of the thinking tools into practice!
XMind
I've found mind-mapping apps to be really useful for creating issue trees and visualising first-principles thinking. XMind is my app of choice for this, but any other mind-mapping app can help you with these two thinking tools.
Ruminate
Made specifically for the decision matrix, this app takes doing the math out of it so that you can focus on considering different factors and individual options. It is very well designed, comes with a host of templates and best of all, it's free.
Loopy
Great app for creating balancing and reinforcing feedback loops. Very simple app but it makes visualising systems-thinking much easier. It's free and works in a browser. You can share a link to the loops you make, save them or even embed on websites, making it great for collaborating with others.
These apps are great and really helpful. Do you know about other apps that can be used with Untools? Let me know by replying to this email.
If you're like me, though, you might prefer to use a piece of paper most of the time and that's what I'm working on next for Untools.
Worksheets
Any thinking tool is only as useful as your ability to put it to practice. To make content on Untools more practical, I'm currently working on worksheets for some of the thinking tools.
Here's a little sneak-peek of what that might look like:
These worksheets should be little companions for some of the tools that you can print and fill out to aid your thinking. And every worksheet will come with a PDF guide for a given tool.
I'm aiming to make them available by late August so stay tuned for that.
Take care and as always, if you have any feedback on Untools, I'd love to hear from you!
