[untitled games event] #3 recap + Sat 28 Mar [uge] field trip!

Third time was indeed the charm. Wow. That was so much fun.

All thanks to everyone who came, played, brought snacks, found a pigeon soulmate, got yoked and rolled with it. Special thanks to Puck Verras for the incredible guacamole 🫶

Do it all again next month? Mark your calendars for Sunday 19 April, and read on for details on the first [uge] field trip!

A crowded room laughs and reacts to two speakers standing next to a TV that shows a videogame. A man in the center is raising his hand.

As always, we’ll reach for your inbox two weeks before show date with all the details. Photographic highlights are above and below, with thanks to Yan Cong.

If you’d like us to occasionally pop into in your timeline, you can follow [uge] on Instagram and Bluesky. If you have any feedback, we would really, truly appreciate hearing from you.

Three people are playing a game that shows a silhouetted pigeon flying over a city. One of the three is pointing excitedly at the screen.
A group of people chatting. One, with back facing the camera, is wearing a David Byrne tshirt.
An audience listens to a speaker seated in front a a laptop, with a TV screen behind her. Screen title reads "From Numbers to GAINS"
A man, crouching, points at a TV screen where his slides appear. An audience is listening in rapt attention.

The 1st [uge] field trip!

This Saturday on 28 March, some of us will be attending Indie Showcase NL at A-Lab in Noord. Looks like a good time: 10ish upcoming indie games to play plus a Rusty Lake exhibition. Tickets appear to be sold out right now, but keep an eye on Ticketswap!

We’ve reserved a big table at nearby Tolhuistuin from 1700-1900 for [uge]—if you’re at the event, or just nearby and free, swing by! It’ll be fun to debrief on the games we played or chat and catch up over drinks and snacks.

  • This fun new collage video on “hands in videogames”

  • Manifold Garden: “a stunning first-person puzzle game of impossible architecture and reimagined physics.” It’s Get Yoked for the mind.

  • The Looker: a comedic puzzle solving game that parodies Jonathan Blow's The Witness.

  • Universal Paperclips: legendary browser-based incremental clicker game about an AI tasked with producing paperclips.
