Sun Oct 11 | [untitled games event] #10: "tightrope of hope"

Soul Injector Commando + Records of Babel + Kippen + NOCLIP + Rotterdam playground design

The first double-digit UGE. Also the last UGE this year.

Join us on Sunday 11 October 2026 for one final evening of surreal games and grounded talks that hold a balancing act between imagination and resistance.

The Martinican writer and activist Suzanne Césaire called surrealism "the tightrope of our hope", and the five works in [untitled games event] #10 span the surrealist spectrum. Some silly, some rebellious, some transformative. Each finding interconnection even in isolation. Each activating a “readiness for the marvelous.”

Soul Injector Commando is a chill and vibrant first-person game that starts with the premise that billionaires are a blight on the world.

NOCLIP explores dream logic, liminal spaces, and spatial dissonance through digital architecture.

Play! is a book about playground design in the Netherlands, and frames playgrounds as sites for progressive, even radical practices.

Kippen is a fast-paced deck building card game where your chickens get yolked and take on wizards.

And together with artist Ada Null we explore Records of Babel, part of The Zium Railway, a sumptuous hand-crafted “open world” art gallery.

For one last time in 2026, we can’t wait to see you all and experience these works together.

Featured works in edition #10

Soul Injector Commando, by Jeremy Couillard

A creature with an unsettling human face attacks you, the character, as you shoot back. The world is vibrant is colourful.

A chill and surreal FPS where you are tasked by God to go on an underground adventure with some friends to give souls to the greediest people on Earth. A ”fever dream's fever dream about a dead guy firing humanity into billionaires.”

🗣️ Creator Jeremy Couillard will be present for a micro-talk

TALK: PLAY! A Cultural Perspective on Design of Playgrounds, by Janna Bystrykh & Sanne van den Breemer

An open book showing photos from playgrounds in Rotterdam

A photo documentation of playgrounds across Rotterdam, PLAY! captures the environment of play – an amalgamation of ideas, dreams, and efforts – interwoven with curated conversations with playground creators, designers, environmental experts and urban thinkers.

PLAY! highlights progressive practices, concepts and ideas, and sparks a conversation about the future of public play landscapes, emphasizing their role in climate and nature restoration and fostering cohesive social spaces in urban areas.

NOCLIP, by Beatrice Fini

A creepy corridor in grey and white extends into murk

An experimental video game and immersive architectural experience that explores dream logic, liminal spaces, and spatial dissonance through digital architecture.

Inspired by recorded dreams, personal memories, and the aesthetics of the Backrooms phenomenon, the project investigates how virtual environments can generate feelings of disorientation, ambiguity, and psychological tension.

🗣️ Creator Beatrice Fini will be present for a micro-talk

Kippen, by Niek Dekker & Timo Kuilder

A little box that says Kippen with a cartoon chicken on it, surrounded by cards from the game box

A fast-paced deckbuilder game about working your way up the pecking order, swapping not-so-powerful chickens for an army of increasingly stronger (and weirder) creatures. A brisk, crisp two-player battler.

🗣️ Creators Niek and Timo will be present for a micro-talk

Records of Babel, by Ada Null

(Part of The Zium Railway)

A poster showing a pixelated yellow-red landscape with the words "Records of Babel" overlaid

The Zium Railway is a virtual art gallery game, featuring work from artists from around the world, curated by Michael Berto and featuring a hand-crafted open world by artist Jacob Potterfield.

Joining us at UGE will be participating artist Ada Null, whose work in the Zium Railway (“Records of Babel”) is a fragmentary narrative of a future that never lived.

Tell all your friends, bring all your friends.
As ever, we would love to hear your thoughts.

Until the 11th,
