Kirikiriroa Hamilton Events

I am pleased to say I will be giving a free public talk in Kirikiriroa Hamilton next week to mark Te Pūtake o te Riri – He Rā Maumahara, the national day of commemoration for the New Zealand Wars held each year on 28 October.

Entitled ‘The Invasion of Waikato/Te Riri ki Tainui’, my talk will discuss the causes, course, and consequences of the 1863-64 invasion of Waikato and its enduring impact today, drawing on both my 2024 book of that name and the longer 2016 work The Great War for New Zealand: Waikato, 1800-2000.

Where: Waikato Museum 1 Grantham Street, Hamilton Central, Hamilton 3204

When: Saturday, 25 October 2025, 11am-12pm

See the Waikato Museum website event listing for more details and free bookings.
