two things!

Hi everyone,

This is Ultralight School again. We hope you're having a beautiful springsummer!

✨💫🌟

We are writing to share two things:

( 1 of 2 )

We are opening up a virtual reading group as an offshoot from the "Sense to Sense" class!

Sense to Sense (Virtual Reading Group) · Zoom · Luma

Sense to Sense is a virtual reading group about translation and the senses. Over five weeks, participants will engage in readings and discussion about the five…

It will happen from 1-2pm EST (which is 19:00-20:00 CET, and 10-11am PST) on for five weeks on Mondays (June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14) virtually on Zoom. We have 5 spots open, and you can register here, if you like.

In this reading group, we will engage in readings and discussion about the five senses and explore what it means to carry sensations over into written form. How can a fragrance become a poem? What are the different ways to write an image, or to document a sound? Ursula K. Le Guin says, “all writing is translation” — from the perceptual into language. It's taught by Meg Miller & Laurel Schwulst.

To make best use of this class, we recommend registering at the latest by this Thursday, June 12, so you have enough time to read for Monday's session.

Applications are open for our walking class, "Walking the Internet" until next Friday, June 20th — in 10 days. You can apply, if you like!

In this 3 week class, we will meet three consecutive Saturday afternoons in July to explore physical and cultural infrastructure in New York City. This class is taught by Alex Wolfe and Laurel Schwulst and begins in different places in Manhattan each week.

Until next time,
