Ukulele Abe Newsletter May 2020
Hi friends!
It's Abe with an update about my musical and ukulelical world.
It's been a while since I've sent a newsletter, so I wanted to "hey how are ya?" and "this is what's up with me." 😁
We've been mostly stuck at home since the school year was cancelled in March (or April? I can't remember honestly). We get lots of sun on our family bike rides, and I just found out we need a new bike! Our daughter just learned how to ride her brother's bike. It's a bit too small for him, anyway.
How have you been during the global crisis?
I've had a few new things happen in the past month.
New music?!
I've been ever so slowly putting up new music on my Bandcamp for my fan club, with the plan to put together the best songs for my next album.
It's been a long time in the making, but I'm glad to finally be moving toward some more solid tunes.
Ukulele Ensemble Arrangement
I'm so excited to say I've put together my first ukulele ensemble arrangement! It's a tango for 3 ukuleles and bass. You can check it out here.
As a YouTube guest
I had the absolute pleasure to appear on two friends' YouTube channels.
First, I was in Craig and Sarah's Online mini fest (1:18 mark, but the whole 7 hour festival is great fun!).
Second, I was a guest on Banjolele Tinman's podcast. You can watch that here. It was nice being a guest instead of host for once.
Uke Fests
Speaking of virtual appearances, I'll be playing and teaching at the Virtual Brooklyn Ukulele Festival this weekend.
Podcast
The latest two podcast episodes with Chris Kamaka and Mika Kane are out now, but you probably know if you're subscribed in a podcast app. 😉
Mahalo!
As always, thank you so much for your support over the years, or even if you're just starting to check out all the things I create.
I hope you're taking care of yourselves and staying healthy. 😊
Aloha! -Abe
