Hey there! I've made a lot of updates since the last email. More video content and tutorials, more apps and more UI kits.
I also pushed an update that gives a unique page to each interaction so you can share URLs to interesting designs with your colleagues
The goal is to create a repository of curated design content that you won't find anywhere else. I'm a strong believer of self learning and creating a resource site is my way of giving back.
Some highlights if you want to check out what's new:
UI Kits: A new dedicated page to high quality resources
Learn Design: A comprehensive video course on UI/UX design
Interviews: Interviews with top designers
Anchor: Make your own podcast
Slowly: App to find pen-pals and send messages
Calm: Meditation and sleep stories
Citymapper: Transit navigation in big cities
UI Kits are probably one of the best ways to get a kickstart in your design whether you're just learning or want to implement something quick. Back when I was learning design, I used to take apart UI kits to try to understand how experienced designers approached design. Some of the categories you can browse are Websites, Cryptocurrency, Dashboards, Social, Productivity, Music and Audio, Food, Finance, Booking, E-commerce and Fitness.
Learn: I've been working on my YouTube channel for over 6 months now. Since then, I've made over 30 videos teaching what I know and sharing highlights from my design journey. This month, I decided to create a structured page on UI Sources for you to browse these videos. You check out the Interviews and Conversations and the Tutorials and Videosa> section.
Anchor is an app for anyone to create a podcast on their phone. It was in the news recently after it got acquired by Spotify. It's a super powerful app that lets you listen to podcasts, record podcasts, add audio effects, invite guests, create album artwork, publish to iTunes and more! Worth checking out for its elaborate yet simple creation flows.
Slowly is a social app which lets you meet pen friends from around the world. Just like a real letter, delivery time depends on geo-locations and distance between pen friends — you are therefore encouraged to take the time in writing and share your thoughts freely. It asks you to select some topics and interests during profile creation to help match you with other pen pals who share your passion. Worth checking out for the use of personalized stamps. This app was submitted by Ankur Anand.
Calm is an app for meditation and sleep. You’ll find sleep stories to help you fall asleep, breathing exercises to help you relax and classes to learn the art of meditation. It's a great mindfulness app for beginners, and also includes hundreds of programs for intermediate and advanced users. Worth checking out for the choice of soothing visuals that complement the relaxing music. This app was submitted by Anirudh Shrinivas.
Citymapper is a transit navigation app aimed at making city travel as stress-free as possible. Its journey planner combines all the transport modes to find you the best route: walking, metro, bus, train, taxis, and cycles, all in real-time including the bus and train times and disruptions. Worth checking out if you live in one of their 39 supported cities and your work requires you to commute to new places each day. This app was submitted by Abheyraj Singh.
