Hello! Hope you're having a great week. This week, I've added 74 new interactions and 10 new apps. Some of them include an Apple Design Award winning calculator, a space themed language learning app, an app to invest in classic cars, a website builder on your phone and more! As the library is growing, I've also added 4 new interaction categories.
Chat bots: Using a chat interface to do interesting interactions including onboarding, diagnosing health and telling stories
Camera: Using the camera for AR, shooting music videos, recognizing objects and more
Gamification: Using game elements like lives, daily streaks and themes to increase engagement
Customize: Letting users change their app experience by changing colors, themes and the app icon
As always, feel free to drop me a tweet on @abnux to share any feedback you might have. Have a great week ahead!
New apps this week
Calzy is an Apple Design Award winning calculator that uses 3D touch in very interesting ways. Some notable interactions include saving results by dragging and dropping, spelling out the current number, scientific mode, changing theme and the app icon.
Memrise is a space themed language learning app. You can learn over 19 different languages in a gamified interface. The more you progress, the higher up you go in space. They also have a cool camera mode where it can recognize objects and say it in different languages.
On Rally Road you can purchase equity shares in hand picked, classic cars starting at just $40 per share. As far as I know, they're the only app that has created a new asset class of vintage cars and lets you invest in them. The app design uses high quality photographs of cars and interactions really well.
Universe is one of my favourite products right now. It lets you create full websites for personal or business use right from your phone. Whether you're a freelancer, Soundcloud rapper or business owner, getting a beautiful website up takes just about 10 minutes.
Non is a meditation app that uses generative sound to create unique meditation sessions every time you use it. Unlike other meditation apps, there's no voice or instructors, just generated music. It uses intuitive interactions and 3D touch really well.
Waze has arguably one of the nicest onboarding and illustration styles out of all the apps I've come across. It's a live traffic app by Google and is one of the few apps that still uses a skeuomorphic style. Overall, it's avery colourful, animated and delightful experience.
Yarn is a stories app that uses chat as the interface. They have highly engaging romance and horror stories that reveal themselves to you tap by tap as text messages.
WeTransfer is a Dropbox meets Pinterest kind of app that lets you collect inspiration, store links and scan documents. They were recently in the news for acquiring the popular creative apps Paste and Paper by FiftyThree.
Noon Pacific is a curated music app that sends you a playlist from NYC, LA or London every week at noon. Very minimalist style, and you can directly save songs to your Spotify account.
Nirow is a habit and goal tracking app that helps you stay on track. Once you enter the habits you want to track, it sends you reminders and maintains a gamified streak to show how long you've been doing it.
