Closing Reception and Artist Talk for Beili Liu: Arctic Mending
The Kimura Gallery exhibit Beili Liu: Arctic Mending will close on Friday, October 18. In celebration of the artwork a closing reception will be held from 5 to 7 PM in the Kimura Gallery. The artist Beili Liu will be present to speak about her artwork and experiences working in the Circumpolar North. This event was made possible by the generous support of Alaska Airlines.
Call for Art: No Big Heads
The Hugh McPeck Gallery in the UAA Student Union is accepting submissions of artwork of exceptional quality and limited scale from now until October 21st. All mediums are accepted but the completed artwork must be smaller than 12x12x12 inches–this includes any framing or hanging materials. Making Versatile Journals with Susan Joy Share
Thanks to everyone who attended Susan Joy Share’s workshop Versatile Journals earlier this week in the UAA Printmaking Studio. Attendees created their own personalized journals using diverse techniques including bookbinding, collage and handmade stamps.
We hope to host more workshops for our community–stay tuned for future creative opportunities. If you haven’t seen Susan’s art exhibition yet there’s still time to view Breathing Both Sides at the Arc Gallery in the UAA/APU Consortium Library until November 1st.
