Typedeck is becoming a Mac app - here's what that means for you
Hi,
You’re receiving this because you were one of Typedeck’s earliest users and I wanted to share an important update.
Typedeck is moving from the web to a native Mac app. As part of that transition, the web app at typedeck.io will be retired in 60 days, on May 10, 2026.
The new Mac app is completely redesigned based on your feedback. It’s far more capable and built from the ground up for macOS. It includes everything in the web app - themes, code blocks, tables, charts, diagrams, and speaker notes - plus PDF, PowerPoint, Google Slides, and HTML export, a full presenter view, and a theme editor for creating and locking your own brand themes.
What this means for you
Before May 10, 2026, please download your work:
Export individual decks
Open each deck and use the Export menu to save it as PDF, PowerPoint, or Markdown.
Export all your data
Go to Settings → Export Data. You’ll receive an email with a complete JSON export of your decks, image references, and account details.
After May 10, 2026, typedeck.io will redirect to typedeck.app, and the web app will no longer be accessible.
To say thanks, the Mac app is free for you.
Because you were here early, I want you to have the Mac app at no cost. To get it:
Go to typedeck.app
Enter your email under “Notify Me at Launch”
I’ll personally send you a free download code for the Mac App Store when it’s ready.
If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled automatically on May 10, 2026, and any remaining balance will be refunded.
What’s next:
The Mac app is coming soon, with Windows and Linux planned later on. Your support as an early user helped make this possible, and I’m genuinely grateful for that.
If you have any questions or need help exporting your work, just reply to this email. I read every one.
Thank you,
Michael
