This Week In Delightful Miscellany
This week marked the 202nd anniversary of the publication of Pride & Prejudice, a true favorite of both your Dames. Vox has helpfully shared two essential infographics -- one delineating Lizzie & Darcy's respective journeys away from the titular vices, and one tracking mentions of both characters' names in British literature over the last two centuries.
The celebs brought a bit more pizzazz (Sophie nearly wrote "pizzas", which tells you where her head is at right now) to their fashion game at the SAG Awards last weekend. Some of these Best Looks are really to die for (some, oof, not so much). Did you have a favorite or least-favorite among these gowns? Let us know!
Avidly struck our funny bones repeatedly and without mercy in Essays That We As Ladies of Early Middle Age Would Like To See Written. This is so full of solid gold painfully recognizable hilarity that we can barely pause our belly-laughing to select a favorite each, but Sophie gives a slight edge to "$80 Is Not Too Much to Pay for the Best of Something, Even a Bra" or maybe "I Have Thoughts About the Revolution, But I Have Not Slept and Can't Find My Other Shoe". Margaret's favorite is "Ten Satisfying Ways of Letting Your Enemy Know That You Are Ignoring Her, While Still Ignoring Her."
