Is it really February already?

They say time flies when you’re having fun. For many of us Caterham owners, this time of year is ‘off season’, with our precious toys safely tucked up under blankets, with a CTEK plugged in 😆

But this time of year is also the time to start planning some excitement for the year ahead. Which is precisely what we’ve been up to!

We can’t talk about it, yet

Two things we can’t really talk about yet. One, because we’re merely a supporter of a Caterham & Lotus 7 Club event that they’ll be announcing soon. What we can tell you though, is we’ve been out route recceing for it. We’d like to think this picture will whet your appetite:

Wiggly road. Caterham smiles.
“Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” Yes we do, Doc.

The second thing we can’t tell you about, is our own open day! We can’t tell you about it, because it’s currently a half-baked plan 🤦 But, we do have a date. So pop Saturday April 5th in your diary, and we’ll supply more details soon (when we’ve thought about them).

Reminder to get your spring service booked!

It’s the same every year. We all get our cars out of hibernation at the same time, and ring Carl up the week before to ask if he can give it a once over (our Mark is terrible for this — he does it every year!) The poor workshop is then overloaded. So if you’re thinking about having a service, or getting your pre-season geometry check done, give the workshop a buzz sooner rather than later and we’ll get you turned around as quickly as possible. We can do local collections in the van for a wee charge, just ask us for details. Alternatively, we do know folks who skip the servicing and just go for an upgrade 😆 Naturally we can help with that.

ICYMI

Our last film of 2024 dropped just before Christmas. It’s had amazing traction (thank you if you’ve already watched it!) which we were blown away by. 10k views in the month after dropping, was way more than we expected. It’s made us realise a lot of folks are really interested in Caterham performance relative to ‘normal’ cars. So we’ll be pressing on with a series of films like it this year. In case you missed it:

I’ll pass on that, thanks

If you want to feel like you’re in the Alps, but really you’re still in Blighty, in the North to be more specific, then the A686 from Penrith to Alston has some fun in store. Hartside Pass.

Not The Alps

Once you get to the top, stop at the car park and take in the view. Whatever the weather, it’s never disappointing. After that, carry on down to Alston, then wind your way back to wherever, via any road in the North Pennines AONB. They’re all stunning, the views are all amazing, and whatever the time of year, it never seems to be that busy. The North Pennines are Britain’s best kept secret. So, keep schtum, and save this doozy for between us ~taps nose~

Until next time, happy blatting! 🫡
