Tris Talks... September Newsletter!
Whew, September was chaos. Mostly good chaos, but there was not a lot of downtime, and I’ll admit, that wore on me physically. I finally slept enough this past weekend that it felt like my brain was coming out of the fog it had settled into!
I am slowly returning to a typical level of chaos and what amounts to my routine. Of course, this is just in time for another trip coming up, and more weekends with plans. It all goes quiet in November, just in time for the holiday season to start!
I can tell I’m stressed because I’ve fallen back down the rabbit hole of listening to anime songs because I find it both comforting, and easy to ignore while I’m drafting things. Can’t remember exactly which show the song is from, but it gives me happy feels, so I’ll take it!
Things published…
Nothing new in terms of fiction, but I did put up three blog posts this month.

On rereading my old fic… (Tumblr | Pillowfort | Dreamwidth | Website)

Progress, what I’m working on, etc. etc….
This month tried to start off SO well. I wrote words on Run Together! Yes, Nate’s story started. Then everything stalled, because life got in the way.
I did, however, get the short story for the anthology edited. I also read an exerpt from it at Albacon, which was cool (would’ve been cooler if there were a visible audience other than the camera!).
I also finally got started on the editing for Missed Fortunes, including some conversations with my editor about how to fix the framing so that it works for readers who are not as familiar with the Tarot as I am. I have a few tasks I need to do to fix that before my brain will let me really dig into the whole thing. They are working on their edit of Into the Split while I work on MF, so that’s exciting. We are all moving forward, just a bit slowly.
The plan for October is to make significant progress on the edits for MF, and of course, to add to both RT and BBD, because again, those books are overdue. Yes, yes, I recognize that I set my own deadlines, but in my head they are late, so apparently my inner-publishing-house is cranky.
Upcoming appearances…
My next scheduled convention is Boskone in Boston in February. Keep an eye on this space for more information about panels once those are set! I’m hoping for a fun schedule. Plus I now have all kinds of cool outfits to choose from, which is just… making me feel comfortable at conventions.
Please, if you’re ever in the area for a convention, reach out to me and come see me! I love to chat.
And that’s it…
Short newsletter this month, I’m sorry. I wish I had more to report! No seriously, I really REALLY wish I had more to report. I miss being hyperproductive.
If you’re curious to see snippets as I work, all levels of my Patreon are treated to early chapters of PHU when it is posting, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at works in progress.
And please find me on social media if you want to chit-chat or just hear me natter on about life, writing, and fandom. I’m tryslora everywhere!
Thank you for reading Tris Talks...!
