Readercon!
I never sent an email at the end of June, and well… I’ll catch up properly on news (everything is chaos, that’s the short version) at the end of July.
HOWEVER.
On Thursday, Readercon begins!
What is Readercon? It’s a written-word focused convention outside of Boston, Massachusetts. This is my first time attending, and I’m very excited to attend.
I will not be on programming. However, I will be there with others from Duck Prints Press and I will be assisting with the table in the Bookshop (that would be the vending room at Readercon) so if any of y’all are at the convention, that would be where to find me!
This is my first convention purely as an attendee in a long, long time. I’m not working, either as staff or a writer.
I’m excited to look at programming and pick out what I would like to attend. I’m excited to see the guests of honor. I’m excited to get to talk to other writers, both indie and tradpub.
I’m just excited in general.
And slightly nervous, because unlike other conventions, I’m also traveling to this one on my own—solo on the road trip part! No spouse in sight (he gets a quiet weekend at camp—him and the dog and hopefully an appointment with a repair person for the fridge… I did mention chaos, right?). And I get a nice drive with only an audiobook as my companion. And construction, I’m sure, because there’s always construction on the Pike.
ANYWAY.
I want to keep this short and sweet.
