It's never too late to start over

I have been thinking a lot lately. Thinking about how grateful I am that it’s always a good time to just start over if things are not beneficial to you. I have felt for a very long time that I just want to build my life differently. So in 2026, I did just that! I’ve met the love of my life, I have built new friendships, and I’m in the process of leaving my old childhood town behind (although I won’t leave completely because I still have family and friends there). But it’s enough for a new start!

Since I'm doing these things, I’ve also started to feel better and build new habits because it’s much easier to build new habits when you feel it’s a new chapter in life.

However, a new chapter doesn’t mean it needs to be a new year or a new town. You can just decide it’s a new chapter the next day you wake up! It’s true! If you want to start fresh, it’s always available to you. That’s the one thing that is always available. Life is that way.

I set "aims" instead of "goals" for 2026!

I try not to do things that are not certain and expect them to work as if they were certain. Like, sure, you can aim for things, but then you shouldn’t call it “resolutions”. That’s why I focus on the “aim” instead of setting strict goals. Let me show you how I do it!

Planning on paper vs digital planning

I use both paper planners and digital planning tools to organize my life. I think better on paper, although it’s much more convenient to plan digitally… So I do like a hybrid system, and I’m trying to stick with what works and not change things up if not necessary.

So I have four types of paper planners:

What is a "late bloomer"?

I might feel called to define what a “late bloomer” actually is! I mean, it’s the whole premise of this newsletter!

The definition may vary, but my definition of this commonly used phrase is: “A person who finds their meaning, purpose, or happiness later in life. Typically, later than their peers, and with hardships in their way to get to what they want.”

What do you think about when hearing this? Are you a late bloomer too, or are you just curious about the topic? I think people can be early bloomers in some aspects and late bloomers in others, though. It’s not an either/or thing!

My own story - a summary of thoughts!

I always wanted to write for late bloomers

I always wanted to write…

Sure, I have many different creative outlets, but writing combines a lot. Many of my interests go hand-in-hand with each other. Filmmaking needs both musical soundtracks, storytelling (writing), and visuals. I do all of that. Writing can also have a soundtrack and visuals, like illustrations. What I’m trying to say is that this newsletter was a long time coming… A place to share creativity and combine my creativity. Although mainly in the written format. Or at least the written format as its base.

So what is this newsletter all about? I always wanted to start a newsletter focusing on personal growth, but for us, that seems to struggle more in life. People with disabilities, mental and physical health problems, but even things that have nothing to do with illness/disability, like different minority groups like LGBTQ+ people, third culture kids/adults, women who haven’t been seen yet but want to have the same opportunity as their male counterparts, and a whole bunch of other people.

So in this newsletter, I’m going to share personal thoughts about these things. Also fun fact, I’m all of the minorities listed above, haha!
