Sign-Ups Begin @ TriCon!
Happy Snow Day, everyone! For the two or three of you lucky enough to live somewhere untouched by this storm: Happy Monday.
The ball is rolling on all kinds of TriCon events and programming! Here is an overview of action items available to you as of January 26th, 2026!
Take Part in the Indie Pop-Up Shop!
Are you an indie or self-published author with physical books to sell? Trident Booksellers & Cafe will be hosting an Indie Pop-up throughout the conference, both in the vendor hall and in the Trident Cafe at 1256 Hollis St.
This will be a full “bookstore” for indies ONLY, and can include your merch. Participating authors will also be invited to have signings in the Pop-Up. The Pop-Up is being offered as an alternative to forcing indies to book (and staff) a whole vendor table for the weekend, giving them the same exposure as a traditionally-published author.
There is NO COST to participating in the Indie Pop-Up, although Trident is asking for a 10% commission on anything sold to cover staffing and processing.
To participate, please fill out this application form. If you have more questions first, please email tridenthalifax@eastlink.ca!
Vendor Applications Are Open!
Help us spread the word! We are open to applications for tables in our dealer hall at the NSCAD Port Campus!
The dealer hall will be open to the public, and the $150 table rate includes one General Admission weekend pass (with the option of adding one more at a discounted rate.) We have had a great response so far from publishers and booksellers, but we’d love to see more artisans, craftspeople, and other non-book enterprises! Between TriCon attendees and our proximity to the busy Seaport Farmers Market, this is a great opportunity to put your wares in front of geeky buyers!
Launch Your Book @ TriCon!
Do you have a new book out? Would you like a Halifax launch of a recently-released book? Celebrate with us! We will be scheduling launch parties all weekend in the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia’s beautiful atrium space, with a variety of refreshment options. Read, sign books, and mingle with friends new and old. A bookseller will be on hand to sell copies of your book as well.
To apply, email triconhalifax@gmail.com with your details: who you are, the title and publisher of the book, and anything special you might like to see at your launch. This is your party, bring your own magic to it!
Read Along: The Imaro Book Club!
In the months leading up to TriCon, we invite you to read Charles Saunders’ iconic Sword & Soul epic, Imaro. (Winner of the 1982 Aurora Award!)
Read by yourself or join the conversation in the TriCon Discord server, and then during the conference, come to a live book club session led by Saunders’ biographer, Jon Tattrie, to discuss the work.
No sign up necessary! Source the book however you like. Trident Booksellers & Cafe has a heap of physical copies in stock for local attendees to purchase.
Join the Discord Server!
The TriCon Discord server has more than just book club talk! Meet your fellow attendees, ask questions, coordinate travel, or just come chat. You can join at

Pre-Order Your T-Shirt!
Icymi, we have revealed Sorry Sacha’s incredible TriCon tshirt design!

Shirts likely will not go to press until March, so the final result may be slightly different than shown, but we think it will be incredible!
Tshirts are still available at pre-order prices up until the conference. You can place an order as an “Add-On” through Eventbrite here. (At this time, all shirts must be picked up, not shipped.)
Coming Soon: Pitch Sessions & Blue Pencil Cafe Sign-Ups!
Sign-ups for Blue Pencil Cafe and Pitch sessions will open on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd.
These are 10-15 minute 1-on-1 sessions with one of our attending editors or agents. You can pitch your story or novel, bring a small sample for review, or just ask your burning questions! Slots with each editor and agent are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, although you will be able to list first, second, and third choices when you sign up.
There is a limited number of space with each editor, and sign-ups are only available to registered attendees. If you are hoping to book a spot, please make sure you are registered for the conference by then!
We are thrilled to be offering sessions with Editor Guest of Honour, Carl Engle-Laird, Agent Guest of Honour, Kurestin Armada, Wolschak & Wynn editors Ashley Hisson and Jennifer Rawlinson, Mythaxis UK EoC, Andrew Leon Hudson, Heartlines Spec Managing Editor, Rebecca Bennett, and Donovan Street Press editor, Joe Mahoney. More sessions will be added as we confirm additional editors.
And finally…
That’s it for now, but more coming soon! In the meantime, check out (or become a part of) our Panelists page. We have an incredible braintrust amongst us, and we’re so excited to share ideas, conversations, and stories with you all!
