Kaffeeklatsches, Volunteers, More Pitch Sessions!
Happy February! TriCon is now three months away and our plans are coming out fast and furious (in like a Lion—or will that be March?) Here are some of our recent updates, deadlines, and announcements!
Looking for Volunteers!
Applications to join our small but mighty volunteer team are now open! We’re looking for people who can donate a couple shifts of their time during the weekend of May 15th-17th 2026 doing things like attendee registration, panel monitoring, wayfinding, and running. In exchange, we are offering full weekend passes, green room access, and volunteer t-shirts!
To apply, please visit https://tricon-halifax.com/volunteer/ and fill out the application form. We will let successful applicants know ASAP so that you can sign up for other programming as well.
Kaffeeklatsch Sign-Ups Open Feb 17th!

What is a Kaffeeklatsch? It’s a chance to have coffee and a chat with a writer and a few friends. At TriCon, this will be a get-together at Trident Booksellers & Cafe with 3-7 other people over complimentary cafe beverages!
We will be opening sign-ups for Kaffeeklatsches on Tuesday, February 17th 2026 around 11am AT. As with the Blue Pencil Cafe sessions, space is limited with each writer and will be booked on a first-come, first-serve basis to registered attendees only.
We will be offering coffee dates with GoH Amal El-Mohtar, novelists Isaac Fellman, Julie Czerneda, Jennifer Geisbrecht, and David Demchuk, and multitalented poets/editors/storytellers Terese Mason Pierre and Tiffany Morris!
New Blue Pencil Cafe Sessions!
Our original lineup of Blue Pencil Cafe sessions are almost entirely full, but we have some new ones opening as well!
We are thrilled to welcome Selena Middleton of Stelliform Press to our programming! Selena will be taking pitches during her sessions, although no doubt she’d be happy to just chat and answer questions as well.
Sign-ups are still open at our Events page!
What About Panels??
Our Expression of Interest email for panels and programming is coming soon! As you can imagine, we have lots of panels to plan and many people to coordinate, and we want to give people as much time as possible to get registered in order to participate!
We are hoping to send the Expression form out in late Feb or early March. In the meantime, we have started to spoil some of the panel topics. Note that full speaker slates have not been lined up for these yet, so they could be you!
We are also still accepting pitches for workshops and lectures, as well as any cool ideas you might have for panels. You can submit those via the form at the bottom of the Panels page!
Still looking for…
We are still open to Vendors, Book Launches, and Indie Pop-Up participants as well! Whatever your specific specfic jam, we’d love to have you!
In Conclusion…
We hope you are keeping cozy! Lots more fun to come. See you soon!
