The TriCom Monthly, Vol. 1

Welcome to the inaugural edition of TriCom’s monthly newsletter! Every month, we’ll highlight a type of supplemental insurance that we provide for both our internal staff and all our consultants. To participate in National Cancer Prevention Month, we’re putting the spotlight on our CancerCARE insurance program.

How to Use CancerCARE through TriCom

If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, then you are likely overwhelmed and unsure where to begin. Through TriCom, you’re eligible for our CancerCARE program. This is a free part of your health plan that covers your first treatments all the way through aftercare.

To register, visit CancerCAREprogram.com or call 1-877-640-9610. From there, a nurse will be assigned to you, and they will help you through the rest of your cancer journey. To learn more, talk to your HR representative. You can join the program regardless of what stage of treatment you’re in.

National Cancer Prevention Month

February is National Cancer Prevention Month, and it’s important to schedule your regular doctor’s visits so you can catch any cancers sooner rather than later. With CancerCARE, you can receive free coverage at any point in your journey, but the sooner you apply, the better and more personalized the care will be.

In 2025, more than 2 million American citizens were diagnosed with cancer, and more than 618,000 of them died from it. Roughly 40% of those cases were preventable, highlighting why consistent wellness checks and screenings are so important. Regular mammograms, colonoscopies, and dermatology appointments can help you stay healthy.

3 Ways to Care for Your Body

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the United States. But you can make small lifestyle changes that can greatly reduce your chances of diagnosis. These three habits can make a world of difference:

Exercise and movement: You don’t need to become a triathlete or bodybuilder. Simply going on daily or even biweekly walks can diminish your likelihood of cancer. Moving your body, whether that’s a weekly yoga class or leisurely bike rides, can help you avoid cancer.

Sufficient sleep: Getting a full night’s rest is beneficial for many reasons, one of them being cancer prevention. Not only will you feel ready to conquer the day ahead of you, but you can also live longer and lower your odds of cancer diagnosis.

Daily sunscreen: By the age of 70, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). But wearing sunscreen every day is one of the simplest ways to prevent cancer’s growth. Stanford reported last year that daily sunscreen use reduced the occurrence of melanoma by 50%.
