Issue #6 April 5, 2020
This week I’m just going share some things that helped me pass the time. My regular routine is shot and I’m finding myself struggling to do things that I thought I had under control, such as exercising, eating right, reading regularly, etc. What I had under control was a routine that made those things easier. I’ll try to keep that routine as intact as I can because some day it will return. In the meantime, I’ll just do the best I can. With that said, maybe some of what follows will help you pass your time.
- Les Stroud has been publishing Survivorman content to his YouTube channel. I’ve been watching Survivorman for years and have always found it relaxing for reasons that I’m not sure I understand.
- This newsletter is basically my journal and for me the benefit of doing it will show up when I can look back on it after time passes to see it as a snapshot of what I was doing. Anyway, it was good to see this approach confirmed in How to start and keep a journal during a pandemic (or any crisis) from Just Good Shit.
- Here is something to read if you feel what I’m feeling right now: Stop Trying to Be Productive in The New York Times.
- I was reading something this week and it reminded me of something my mother used to say when I was young and I suddenly wondered where it came from: chop chop (phrase) from Wikipedia.
- I actually spent some time listening to music this week and it was because of a recommendation for GHOSTS V: TOGETHER AND GHOSTS VI: LOCUSTS by Nine Inch Nails.
- I was able to add quite a few books to my TBR list because the Best Translated Book Awards announced their 2020 longlist.
On My Site
I published two “What I’m Reading“ posts this week. Once where I added some thoughts on each book in my list and quickly again today because I want to make this a Sunday habit. Next week I’ll put my effort into just one post.
Reading Challenge
I finished two more books over the past week, which brings my total to 29 books completed toward my goal of 52 for this year.

That’s it for this week. Good luck and take care of yourself in the week ahead.
