Hello. John-Paul here, with a special Friday edition - on what to do with outdated blog posts and news on your website.
In a few steps, you can refresh and repurpose old content, making it engaging and relevant for visitors.
I recorded a <5min video showing exactly how to do this.
Key Steps
Step 1: Review existing content 0:17
Access the TGS website and navigate to the news or blog pages.
Identify blog posts and articles that appear outdated based on their publication dates.
Step 2: Copy the content 1:22
Select the entire contents of the identified news page.
Use the command 'Command + A' to select all, then 'Command + C' to copy.
Step 3: Use AI to reshape the content 1:50
Open an AI tool (e.g., Claude AI).
Paste the copied content into the AI tool.
Step 4: Generate new content ideas 2:14
Instruct the AI to reshape the content into a compelling five-part email series.
Focus on creating content that addresses the needs of potential clients rather than the firm's achievements.
Step 5: Identify promising themes 2:38
Ask the AI to suggest themes based on the existing content.
Choose a relevant theme that aligns with current client interests (e.g., structuring a business for the EU).
Step 6: Develop an email series 3:00
Request the AI to create a five-part email series targeting a specific audience (e.g., US-based online businesses selling to European customers).
(Specimen attached to this email.)
Ensure the content is engaging and encourages readers to reach out for assistance.
Step 7: Review and finalise the content 4:00
Review the generated email series for clarity and relevance.
Make any necessary adjustments before publishing.
Caution!
AI can be a great help, but it’s not enough. Ensure that the output is meaningful, accurate - and compliant with any relevant regulations or guidelines.
Verify that the AI-generated content aligns with the TGS firm’s voice. To be sure, ask others in your firm to review it.
