An Email Experiment

A new Mr. Rogers

Destin from Smarter Every Day shows us around some fascinating objects on display at a warehousing/logistics/supply-chain industry expo. 39 minutes. Awesome.

Hello, summer!

It’s strong and I love it

A 2:1 ratio of lemon juice to sugar, a 3:1 ratio of water to lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and plenty of ice results in a perfectly chilled, sweet-tart lemonade that will quench any thirst

This is basically how I make lemonade with E.

AI vocabulary words

(It’s new. Tell me if you hate it.)

  • Context Window. It’s not a window at all. But you knew that. ;) It’s basically the size of the “prompt” plus the response that the Model can contain and generate. The “working memory” for a given Model.
  • Did you know: when using LLM “chat” apps like ChatGPT, each time you send a new message, the Model is receiving (essentially) the entire chat transcript. This, and filling a Context Window is why long chat threads enter “the dumb zone”. But we’re not there yet. Just remember: new topic, new thread. ;)

Great questions

What specific actions make you feel welcomed?

I collect great questions. You can see more in a little app I built.

Fifteen years

I recently celebrated 15 years on my team at work. That’s wild! I get to work with some of the most talented, passionate people on the planet. It’s hard to imagine a better place and culture for me. I am so grateful.

Meanwhile, doing some math here… I’ve been building things on the internet for about 30 years!

Yeeeesh!

Good story grandpa.
