Tommy's TL;DR, April #2 🥚 🧺

An Email Experiment

Hello! 👋

It’s “Holy Monday” today. I’ve been making the joke that righteous anger is not only justified, but encouraged today. Let’s flip some tables, and prune some junk from our lives. 😅

(If I send this late and you don’t get it until Tuesday… well, join me next year!)

Easter is on the way!

Fam Jam

  • E had a half-birthday recently, and we decided she could help take care of a fish. 😬 So… we’re fish owners now. 😅 She got a Betta, 3 gallon tank, and we let her pick substrate colors and a single big decoration. (Pictures in the future).

    • Got any “fish tips”? We don’t plan to expand beyond the one.

  • Swimming lessons are going swimmingly. She’s incredibly stoked to be getting in the water.

More goofy web things

I like to collect “big talk” questions. I’ve passively been curating some over the last several years, and threw them into a little web app.

You can try it at https://bigtalk.beepboop.ing/

Your browser/phone will remember the ones you “star”, if you want to keep a list handy, as you hit the “random” button to see them.

The visual styles here are “playskool meets 2010’s web dev”.

Firsts

  • This is the first of these emails I’ve put an image in. I’m pretty sure.

What’s taking space in my brain

  • I’ve been thinking a lot about hyper-local newsletters, automation, and things like “optimizing Google Business Profiles”. So… more silly things to come.

    • Only two of those things are very relevant to me right now. Say… what’s the smallest city size that could monetize a newsletter, with only a couple hours per week of attention? 😅

What are you looking forward to?

  • I’m looking forward to Easter! We’re going to have a pretty busy weekend, but it should be social and fun.

  • Hosting a tiny Egg Hunt for our kiddo and a couple of her friends.

Replies and Shout-outs

  • Will: Thanks for the reply about AI! I’m curious to hear more of your thoughts on what “AGI” might practically look like in our world.

  • Our friends Grace and Sarah host an Easter Egg hunt for adults. There’s a cover charge, food, and actual, legit prizes. Like, you want to win this thing. We got to go, and had a lot of fun. I’m hoping to help blow this thing up. 😆

That’s all for now!

What’s something you’re looking forward to?
