September 2023 was all about country!
Ended up visiting Kansas City! So good to be back in Missouri after all these years! Finally I got to try all the BBQ food that I missed out on while living there! I would like to go again and try out all the other BBQ restaurants in the city!
Things seemed to have changed quite a bit in KC since I was there, things seem to have become expensive and I guess I felt some parts of the city have become better while some have gone down a bit.
I did make sure that I got to try some of the best country dancing places in Kansas City and MO Country seems to offer the best experience. I think previously there used to be venue around the same area called Whiskey Tango but now there is a restaurant with the same name. If you haven't yet been to MO Country then I highly recommend.
Once I was back, I ended up doing a trip to the St Tite Western Festival in St Tite Quebec. It's one of the biggest rodeo events in North America. You must go there atleast once if you live in Quebec or are into rodeos/country music/line dancing. It's free to show up but you need to pay for access to certain venues at the Festival. I have attended the Calgary Stampede, and the Houston Rodeo as well but St Tite Festival has its own charm that makes it different from any other country festival that you will attend.
I also found out that there has been a new country bar that opened in Gatineau! It's called Nash Boite Country and I think it's the best bar right now for country music folks in Ottawa. They do line dancing as well which you would not find anywhere else right now in the Ottawa metro region. And no, Crazy Horse doesn't even come close to what Nash offers!
Also I am planning to get a new car!
I will share more details once it gets delivered!
