SAVE THE DATE: A Singular They virtual premiere
Hello friends,
At last, we are reaching the end of the creation process and heading into the phase where people can actually see the work.
Mark your calendars for March 21, 7pm Eastern for A Singular They’s virtual world premiere.
If you haven’t caught one of the teasers on social media yet, good news, there’s two! A longer trailer is also coming, but not until I have ticketing links ready ;)
For both of these teasers, you can access an Audio Described version by selecting the Settings gear, then selecting Audio, and English (Audio Description). Toggling closed captions will provide you with captions for the description as well as the music/sound, regardless of which audio is enabled. Both use music commissioned from local cellist Liana Nuse. The first teaser has sustained chords; the second, pizzicato plucks, and raps on the body of the instrument. Footage is by Andreas John, editing by me; voice also by me.
If the above embeds don’t work for your email client, you can use these direct links: teaser one and teaser two.
Ticketing information and all the rest will be forthcoming. You can expect opt-in audio description, ASL, and CART for access services. (If there’s something else you’ll need, email me!) I’m getting the website shined up, making technical tests, and doing the last rounds of access edits and tweaks to the footage. 37 days to finish…!
I’m also looking into in-person premiere options here locally, but those are a lower priority effort right this second. (Remember, I am one person.) Stay tuned :)
I am nervous about getting everything done-done, nervous about launching a piece of highly personal queer-trans crip art right now, nervous in general, but also really excited that finally, finally you’re going to get to see.
See you, and you’ll see me, soon,
Toby
